I’ve created an automation that uses the Google Docs integration to create a report. Records found by the automation are added to the GDoc in grid format. Unfortunately, each grid tops out at 10 records in the GDoc, even though the Find records actions have a limit of 100 records. Any ideas?

The “Find Records” action has a limit of 1,000 records.

It’s very confusing, but Airtable has decided to only show 10 records when previewing or testing an automation. No idea why. 🤷🏻‍♂️

However, when an automation actually runs, it will process all of the records (up to 1,000 records).

Also, note that Airtable’s Google Docs actions are extremely limited in what they can do with Google Docs, so you might be disappointed with what Airtable offers.

If you end up being disappointed, I typically recommend that people check out DocsAutomator, DocuMint, or Make’s Google Docs automations to get significantly more features, functionality, and power.

Hey @Darryl_Oliver!

Fully agree with Scott above. What is your specific use case? There might be something out of the box for it :D

@ScottWorld, I wasn’t clear in my statement about the 100 items limit. I realize the Airtable limit is 1000, but I manually set them for 100 in the automation.

@Mike_AutomaticN, the use case is pretty straightforward. I’m just trying to understand why the complete found sets (12 and 19) aren’t making their way into the Google Doc.

If you let the automation run on its own based on the trigger, you will get the full found set of records that you’re looking for.

If you are trying to test the automation, preview the automation, or run it manually, you will only get 10 records.

Hey @Darryl_Oliver even when running on its own rather than as tests manually triggered by you from the automation’s tab? (please see Scott’s comment above)
