I'm trying to set up an automated email to email our clients with a feedback form (not an Airtable form, we use a different platform). The feedback form needs to be tailored to each individual, so I've added a field for the link for each record.

In the automated email, I'm using the "choose data from" tool to insert the form url from the record. However, when I generate the preview, there is nothing left.

I've attached screen shots of the draft email vs the preview.

How do I make the link appear in the email??

For previewing/testing automations, you would need to re-test your trigger step, and choose a record that already has the URL in that record.

That will load all of the test data from that record into your automations screen.

Then, when you preview the email action below, you will see the URL.

p.s. You mentioned that you’re using an external form platform. I would definitely check out Fillout's advanced forms for Airtable because it is 100% free, it communicates directly with Airtable, and it offers hundreds of features that Airtable doesn’t offer with its forms, such as the ability to update Airtable records with a form.

Hope this helps! If you’d like to hire the best Airtable consultant to help you with anything Airtable-related, please feel free to contact me through my website: Airtable consultant — ScottWorld

You can use BaseMailer extension to design the email templates using drag & drop builder, you can use table columns as placeholders. So basically you can add button with link and use table column as placeholder in the link, so when you send email it will be replaced by the column value.
