Hello community,

I created a DB to collect startup informations through a form.

To impose a synthesis, I need to set a certain limit of characters for “long text” question.

I can not find a way to do it with Airtable form, so I am integrating a different tool.

Nevertheless, it’ll be more practicle for us to stay inside Airtable.

Any suggestion ?

Best regards,

Marco

You can’t set this up with Airtable’s legacy form views, but you can set this up with Airtable’s new forms.

You can get to the new forms by clicking on “Forms” at the top of the screen, and the new forms will allow you to set a character limit for both long text fields and single line text fields.

If you click on a text field, you will see the option to set the character limit in the right margin.

Alternatively, you can also do this with Fillout’s advanced forms for Airtable, which also offers hundreds of additional form features that you can’t get in Airtable — such as creating new linked records with a form, updating Airtable records with a form, or generating PDF files with a form submission.

Hope this helps!

If you’re on a Teams and above plan you have access to the ‘Character Limit’ option in Interface forms:
