I’ve been exploring different ways to structure bases for both small teams and growing organizations. On one hand, you want something simple enough for everyone to understand and use daily. On the other hand, as the team scales, you need more advanced features like automations, interfaces, and integrations.

💡 My question to the community:
How do you approach building Airtable systems that are simple for new users but also scalable for future growth?

Would love to hear your strategies, lessons learned, or even mistakes you’ve made along the way!

Airtable has “interfaces”, which are simply folders of “interface pages”.

You would create an interface (i.e. “a folder of interface pages”) that are simple enough for your users to use by only showing them the information that they need to see, and by making sure that the information is displayed onscreen in a simple enough way for them.

Then, you would share certain interfaces with certain people, so that they don’t see anyone else’s interfaces.

Do NOT share your entire base with your users (i.e. the data layer), or else they may become overwhelmed. The data layer is for you to build the backend of your system.

Hope this helps!
