Hi there, It has been a while since i last made any significant updates to my Airtable projects so I am a bit rusty. I am struggling to find the best way to create “a table inside a table”....

I have a table called “Quotes” that has these fields

  • Quote ID (single line text)
  • Option (some clients will review different configurations)
  • Line items (multi-select)

I want the Line items field to select multiple (static data) records from another table called “products” and then list them inside the quote record.

Is this even possible? Any other way to achieve a similar result?

You can do that with Airtable’s interfaces.

However, you can’t do it directly within the list of quotes like what you showed in your illustration. You can only do it from the record detail screen for a particular quote.

On any record detail page, you can display any linked record field as a “view” instead of a field.

Then, you can choose what type of views you’d like to display — in your case, you would probably want a grid view or a list view.

Hope this helps! If you’d like to hire the best Airtable consultant to help you with anything Airtable-related, please feel free to contact me through my website: Airtable consultant — ScottWorld

Hmm, what if you tried using a List view for this?  And I’ve created it for you here to check out!
