The easiest way to deal with duplicates is to use the Dedupe App.
The dedupe extension is great for this.
But in some cases, it would be better to filter out duplicates, rather than delete them. In my case I have many couples who share the same email address. We need to keep records of them both, but when sending emails, email them only once. I have no idea how to achieve this.
I'm trying to do this too. I don't want to delete the duplicates--I need those records--but I only want to send each person 1 email, not 20!
