The Airtable Community is founded on collaboration and a shared love of the Airtable platform. In the forums, you can post questions or start conversations about a wide variety of topics or even showcase your own Airtable use case. In addition to helping a fellow member solve a question or inspiring others by sharing what you’re building, there are actions members can take to improve the search algorithm and add credibility to the forums!

Posts & Replies
To start your own Topic, simply click the ‘+ Create Topic’ button at the top right next to your user avatar.

You can then choose between creating a Question or a Conversation. Use the former if you need help with something, and use the latter if you’d like to start a discussion with other members.

Once a Topic is published, anyone can reply to it. The formatting options for Replies are the same as when you create a Topic, and you can add images, embed media, use emojis, and more. To reply to a specific member, use the ‘@’ symbol before typing their username.
You can also click the ‘Quote’ button at the bottom of the post you want to reply to which will start a Reply with the entire text of the post you’re replying to in your response.

Best practices for Posts & Replies
-
Be clear and detailed – Provide enough context so others can easily understand your post.
-
Include visuals and/or examples if you can – Share screenshots, code snippets, steps taken, or scenarios when possible to illustrate your point and give concrete context. But always remember to keep confidential information confidential!
-
Stay on topic – Keep the content and your follow up replies focused on the specific question or discussion.
-
Check before posting – Proofread for typos, accuracy, and clarity. Make sure you’re posting in the right category!
-
Follow up – If you get a solution, update your post to confirm what worked for you and/or select the Best Answer from the replies that solved your question (more on that below)
Most importantly, always make sure you’re following the Community Code of Conduct and Guidelines when posting in the forums.
Best Answers
The Community is very active, and it is not uncommon to receive a response in a matter of hours. If you posed a question and you received a helpful response, you have the ability to accept that post as the Best Answer.
By marking posts that have helped you solve a problem as the best answer or providing a like to another member's post, you are helping to:
- Improve the search algorithm - Discussions with an accepted answer or with a higher like count are returned with higher preference.
- Provide credibility - A post with a high number of likes, a solution, and high helpfulness score has been vetted by the community and is considered to be a more credible resource.
If you receive a reply that helped solve your question, you can click the ‘Best answer’ button at the bottom left of the post.

Once you've marked a response as the Best Answer, the post receives a green ‘Answer’ flag next to the user information, is highlighted, and is pinned to the top of the discussion thread.

You will only be able to mark a post as the Best Answer for questions that you have posted (i.e., threads you’ve started). You can also only mark one post as the best answer, but you can unmark posts or click ‘Best answer’ on a different post to replace the original best answer.
The original post will also update with a new Helpfulness index at the bottom for future viewers to rate.

Likes 👍
Use Likes to mark the messages you think are most important, insightful, and useful. To give a Like on a post, all you need to do is click the thumbs up ‘Like’ icon at the bottom left corner. When you've given a Like, the icon will change from gray to blue.

To view who has given your post a like, you can hover over the user avatars above the Like button and scroll through the list that appears.
If you thought this post was helpful for you, please give it a Like and mark it helpful with the 😄 icon!
