Hello, I have a table with only 2 columns (Name and Creation Date) now I need to send a form from that table but that contains 5 Name fields so that the client can register 5 people at a time and each of them will be a different record.

I think the simplest way to deal with this would be:

  1. Create a new table called ‘Form submissions’ and link it to your main table
  2. Use Fillout (https://www.fillout.com/) and add that linked field

The form would look like this:

And after submission it’d look like this

Native Airtable forms doesn’t let us create linked records at this point I’m afraid, and so using Fillout is the fastest.  You can also keep it all in Airtable by creating 5 fields and using an automation to help you create a record if the field is filled, but that’s kind of clunky to set up

Hey @Juan Carlos!

That is an excellent question. Unfortunately, this is not possible using Airtable native forms.
To such effect, you’ll want to check out Fillout forms which (i) have a direct integration to Airtable, (ii) will allow you to create multiple records on multiple linked tables (through linked fields); and (iii) have a super generous free plan.

However, if you go with Fillout and you currently have only one table on your Airtable base, I would suggest to create a new table and call it for example “Submissions”. Submissions table should be linked to you existing table (maybe called “People”?) through a linked record field, and should allow multiple people linked to each Submission record.

Your Fillout form should be created for the Submission table, and should have the People field shown on the form. You will need to allow for creation of new People records, and you will want to edit the “child form” for creating people.

To further understand the difference between Fillout and Airtable forms you can read this other article.

Other form providers could also work, but after playing around with so many of them I strongly support Fillout.

Hope this helps!

The solution provided by @TheTimeSavingCo is highly suitable for your requirements.

Fillout integrates seamlessly with Native Airtable, enabling you to handle forms in a native Airtable manner.

Additionally, it supports several unique features, including advanced forms, Scheduling, Data(lead) Enrichment and Automation. These capabilities allow you to handle a larger volume of data natively within the platform.

👍
