I'm building a planning tool, and have got a bit stuck with this.

I'd like to be able to display a timeline view, which is organised by groups.

I would also like to display plans that do not have a group yet assigned to them beside this. Ideally I'd be able to drag the plan into the timeline view to add it to the correct group.

This doesn't seem possible, but I'm posting here in case someone is aware of a way to do what I'm after! Google and airtables AI chat bot hasn't helped too much.

Airtable only allows dragging-and-dropping between groups on the kanban view, so perhaps that view might work for you?

Note that your “group” field would need to be a single-select field in order to work with the kanban view.

Airtable also lets you switch between multiple different views on a single interface page, so you could toggle back-and-forth between kanban and timeline.

Cheers scott - yeah kanban doesn't work because they're grouped by linked records.  Probably two tabs will be the best option.
