Would love a location field - address, city, state, zip, etc, with some international support options for different international needs (like province). Doesn’t seem to be a clean or effective solution to separate them all out into individual columns (city, state, etc).
Please please please include this. I love using airtable for collecting information about real estate. Here are a few use cases.
Apartment Hunting: I collected about 50 different apartments into a base to share information with my roommate. It would have been really helpful to be able input the address into a field so I could click on the address to go to it on maps or see all of my data entries pooled together on one Google Map
Creating lists of locations: Would be awesome to create lists of, for example, trending restaurants, which could be seen on a google map.
Looking at investment property: Same as the other reasons. I’d like to be able to see properties I’m looking at buying on a map view.
I’m creating IMDb for Tacos: The Internet Taco Database. I need location to add the restaurant where the taco is located. I’m currently using the link from the venue in Foursquare / Gmaps, but would love to add it directly from Airtable.
Cheerio,
Is there any way to add a new location by google address autocomplete / Google Places? We want to build a form for business registrations in our online directory, and would need something like this for Airtable to be an option.

Did you found a way to do that?
I’ve built some intersting map formulas to share for ride booking using fields Pickup,Destination]
I’m trying to build a url for street view but it’s not working because it wants Lat/Lon instead of street addresses. Is there anyway to convert a street address to lat/lon in airtable?
Directions from current location to Pickup
“https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Current+Location/” & SUBSTITUTE(Pickup," “,”+")
Directions from Pickup to Destination
“https://www.google.com/maps/dir/?api=1&origin=” & SUBSTITUTE(Pickup," “,”+") & “&layer=t&destination=” & SUBSTITUTE(Destination," “,”+")
This could be the answer for many people here that want to build databases and add autopopulated geolocation fields.
Build form in JotForm with Geo Widget, send via Zap or Integromat to Airtable.
wow…3.5 years and still nothing about this.
map block is nice, but still. in order to make proper location data, you need at least 3 columns…i am sure you can do better.

Agreed. Blocks are and always will be secondary to the primary Airtable UI. We need a true location field, not a maps block.
I am trying to make the switch from Monday .com to Airtable and I am really needing this location feature. I run an embroidery shop as well as make custom apparel from scratch all in Southern California. I would need this feature so that when I myself go out to pick up all of my product from different vendors and contractors, or send a driver out, it is clear where to go. Shouldn’t be hard to add a simple click feature that opens up in a map. It exists on Monday .com and I’m hesitant to switch over to Airtable without the feature.
This is huge. Sharepoint lists have it and it makes life so easy.
How can this still not be supported, years after a gazillion concrete scenarios where provided and where it’s been made abundantly clear that the maps block is not simple/intuitive enough?
Disappointed
. BTW, if that was a premium only feature, I think I would pay for it.
Definetely a needed one. It shouldn’t be that hard, please do it.
Quick question: I assume AirTable should not be use to store geolocation data of a device ? because if I store my location 10x 365d = 3650 with 50k record I will be quickly limited ?
Is there a workaround ? Store data in an SQL database then mix data between airtable and that database ? In a Block ?
Why I’d like to do something like Google Location History mixing a lot of data each day. But for instance “location” is too heavy for AirTable ?
This would be really useful for us too!
Thanks for all of the feedback. We are definitely planning on developing an address/location field type! In the meantime, it’s always helpful for us to hear about the specific use cases for which you all would like an address/location field type. Trip planning is a great suggestion.
We haven’t actually gotten any requests for an MGRS field type, but that’s really interesting as well. Why would you want MGRS geocoordinates specifically?
Being able to “use my location” would also be beneficial as we use this for different types of reporting. It would be beneficial to know where the person is at the time a report is made.
@Katherine_Duh is a location / map feature still in the works? I don’t see it in beta or in my pro plan. Thanks!
I suggest integrating What3Words location which is much easier than GPS coordinates
This would be super helpful for apartment hunting. Usually we spin up a new airtable and include a bunch of data for each apartment we like. Being able to then see the proximity of those apartments to one another would make it so so easy to plan a viewing route. Please add!!
Hi,
Here is my solution :
- Add 2 Single Line Text fields : Latitude, Longitude in your table (and your form)
- Create a page ( important : https page ) on your website to geolocate the user (copy this HTML/JS code)
- Don’t forget to edit “your_id_form_here”
- The user have to accept to be geolocate by clicking “Yes”
- This code redirects the user to your form, with prefill parameters for latitude & longitude
If you don’t have a pro account to display the Map Block, you can use this extension ($11) for Advanced Google Maps Plugin ($59) for your WordPress website.
Best Regards
We’ve built an extension that allows you to create a map of Airtable records. You can easily share it or embed in your website.

+1 to this thread.
Apart of storing coordinates or URLs (which I can do already) I’d love to have a more visual type of field that shows a small map with a pin. Expanding it would show a wider map in which you could move the pin around, and when collapsing again, it would just show the pin and a bit of its surroundings. This would allow us to have thumbnail-sized maps for each record, instead of a map showing them all together.
My use case: managing a database of urban interventions or projects to be prioritized.

Physical location data would be great. We run a number of retail stores and I would like to be able to track information for them in table. Mailing/shipping address in a structured format is a must have for that. Currently, I need to create each field manually for address, city, state, zip (for the state I had to setup the field with 50 single select options). There should be a simpler way to handle that. Thanks.

Please do create this feature. It’s been several years and it is extremely necessary in many scenarios.
