Im not sure where Airtable is headed. But id be happy to print a customer a nice Paper with all the Products he ordered. I guess id like to make different form views like in Filemaker.
Just a place I could write some HTML with Bootstrap enabled would work wonders for me.
@matt_sayward > thank you for the great tips. Just wondering (and sorry if I am barking in the wrong forest here) but would this be of any use to you &/or the other posters here. Webmerge also prohibitively expensive for us, but wondering whether this tool could not do a job for much less?

I too have been very frustrated by Airtable’s inability to print a single record so I came up with a kind of clunky solution which is better than nothing, it’s free and doesn’t involve Zapier or 3rd party solutions. If you right mouse click on any record there’s an option to SEND that record to an email. You can send it with a comment added and choose the data to be tabular or vertical. Once I get it in the email, it’s super easy to do anything with that, add to it, replace the Airtable with my own, email it to the customer, print a copy, make a PDF etc. etc. What I don’t get is if there’s this facility to send this formatted data to an email, how much more difficult would it be to send the same output to a printer or a file, straight from Airtable without ping-ponging it over to an email. I will live with this half baked solution until Airtable comes up with something better. Hope that helps at least a few of you.
I think the easiest solution would be create a “Print” view that is similar in function to the “Forms” views. Pick and choose what to show and hide. Currently, I can use it to print data as the is PII and ‘functional’ fields that would not need be included.
This feature would be very helpful in printing custom forms with client info and history on them for team meetings.
This would be HUGE for us as well. We need a customizable page (where we could add our nice company logo, header, footer, etc) And then we could put in formatted template text with specific imported data from the record. As in: Dear , We are looking forward to working with on . Or whatnot. This is the single most frustrating absence in Airtable. I have used Zapier/Webmerge but it’s a pain in the butt. Please let me know the minute this feature comes to fruition. We will throw a party and post crazy happy photos on social media.

It would not be helpful to just have a print view where you see all of the data. It really must be a customizable, nice looking PDF which we can lay out.
+1 on this. It’s critical for my business to be able to print decent-looking reports from our data. We can set up a View called “Printed Report”, but without the ability to control basic styling (or even page breaks), it’s not very useful.
Hi folks! We’re currently beta testing a way to design custom print layouts. You can sign up here. (Please note that paid users will get priority access for this round of beta features.)

Hey Katherine,
Are the print layouts at the view level or the record level?

Hey @Katherine_Duh , do you envision custom print layouts as being available for the free tier, or only for paid plans?
Thanks!
I hope this comes out of beta soon. I’m excited for this feature.
Can I second this? The whole system is almost perfect for my needs, but this might be a huge step back for my project. I need to print reminders, and having them break across pages is not helpful. It adds another manual step in what is otherwise a manual process.
How long does it take to access the beta once you sign up?
If you’re interested in the ability to create a printable template for your records, I suggest that you sign up for our print layout/page designer beta using this form here. There is the option to print your records on index or business cards, or at a custom page size specified by pixels. You can also print multiple records per page as a list or grid.
It would be great if you could add some options to make card views easier to print/save to pdf. Right now if you try to print the card view the cards will be split over several pages or something like that.
Just the feature of having the cards adapt to the page and the option of choosing how many cards to print per page would make the card view much more powerful. This would essentially be a super easy to use merge for business cards, name tags, address cards, flash cards, bios, product info etc.
I second this request. I would love, love, LOVE to be able to print out invoices. I currently either use Filemaker for this, or Google Spreadsheets, and this would enable me to move both of those work flows over.
Printing is epically important - I need to be able to provide clients with this information.
Is this on a road-map?
Thank you,
Ethan
Hi All,
the ability to Design a page for printing is very important. But what about the ability to design a page for Emailing a row to individual e-mail adresses?
Especially in my case I need to send informations which are included in a row in a special and readable format to partners. The email ability which airtable has right now is very low.

Hey folks! As part of our newly released Airtable Blocks platform, you can now design printable template pages for the records in your Airtable bases!
As mentioned above, there is the option to print your records on index or business cards, or at a custom page size specified by pixels. You can also print multiple records per page as a list or grid.
Blocks is normally a feature for Pro and Enterprise users only, but we’re giving everyone a free trial of Blocks until the end of Saturday, March 31.
I’m going to close this thread, but if you have any suggestions for improvements to page designer block or for blocks in general, you can reach out to us at blocks@airtable.com.
