I’ve been digging around the forums, and I’m not totally clear on the answer, so I’ll ask the question here.

I have an existing Base with a Primary, unique field. I simply want to update the records via an import from a CSV which would require matching the columns and primary field. I do this all the time in QuickBase, but not sure if that’s possible here. Kind of a basic database function, IMO.

Is that possible with Airtable?

Thanks!

bump.

Would also love to know if there’s a way to bulk import records via a CSV file in AirTable, match them based on a key field and then update the corresponding columns (after ensuring they line up).

Thanks!

Our CSV import block supports bulk importing/upserting of records from a CSV into an existing Airtable base:

Can someone confirm if this can only be done via extensions? When I use the import function, it just adds new rows - but no way to merge with existing records.

I'm also having the same issues as Miles_Mitchell1. I want to import data to a new column from a csv, where some of the record names in the csv are the same as some of the record names in my Airtable base.

Hi @Miles_Mitchell1 @robirahman you can use the new CSV extension: https://support.airtable.com/hc/en-us/articles/115013249187-CSV-import-block?_gl=1*1uwzp6n*_gcl_aw*R0NMLjE3MjM3NDA2MTYuQ2owS0NRandxX0cxQmhDU0FSSXNBQ2M3Tnhvd0VzRnFWU2JBMzY1TElpR0xRQ0c1b2cyWFY1bm90dWltYU1uUTJYTnJ0T3B4WXc4TmMzNGFBdGltRUFMd193Y0I.*_gcl_au*MTAzMzI3NzUzNS4xNzIzNzM3NzIw*_ga*MjIwNTYyMDYuMTcyMzczNzcyMA..*_ga_VJY8J9RFZM*MTcyNDgwMzM4MS44LjEuMTcyNDgwNDA0Ni41OS4wLjA.
