You might need to use a different data source, like SmartSuite if you don't want to upgrade
Yes Please, the size of your company shouldn't matter on what location your data is stored. Although I wonder if it really makes a difference, since it remains an entity under U.S. law, with all the risks of privacy infringement. The exodus of meta-owned and X-like platforms to privacy conscious alternatives is already underway. Even by large organizations while lawmakers are pushing for research into the current use of non-european cloud solutions and the search for alternatives in the near future.
+1 !! I’ve already turned down several clients because of this ! How complicated is this to let Airtable clients choose their server ??
Unfortunately, Airtable only offers the option of European data storage for customers who are paying for Airtable’s Enterprise Plan.
You can submit a feature request to Airtable that European data storage should be offered on their other plans by filling out this form.
Outside of upgrading to Airtable’s Enterprise Plan, your only other option would be to switch to a different database app.
If you decide to switch to a different database, I highly recommend checking out Apple’s FileMaker, which is one of the most powerful yet consumer-friendly database apps on the market.
Their FileMaker Cloud hosting service allows you to choose a server in any country that you would like, and you can even self-host on your own personal server as well. (Although self-hosting requires extra technical knowledge.)
I used to be an expert FileMaker consultant for almost 30 years before becoming a top Airtable consultant, so if you need a referral to some FileMaker consultants who can help you make the transition from Airtable to FileMaker, feel free to contact me through my website:
