So I created an airtable app and now I want to hand it over to my client so he can do the subscription himself.

Am I right in thinking the only way to do this is:

  • create a new workspace
  • Make him the owner of the workspace
  • move the base and interface into this new workspace.

It does seem overly convoluted.

He is added to the current workspace but i can't see a way to upgrade his access to owner.

Am I missing something?

Thanks

No, you can add him as an owner to the existing workspace. Check these 2 things:

1. Are you an owner? Only owners can add other owners.

2. I’m not sure if you can upgrade him once he’s been added as a creator. You may need to remove him and then re-add him as an owner.

Might be simpler to ask him to make a Workspace and then invite you, and then you transfer the base over I think?  There might be a single day charge for the extra seat if the new workspace's on a paid plan though

Check out Airtable's documentation on transferring ownership too: https://support.airtable.com/docs/transferring-ownership-in-airtable

The client will need to copy the base into a workspace owned by the client.

An additional option, is for the client to add you as an owner of workspace that they own, then you copy it over for them.  Either way it needs to end up in a workspace billed to the client already.
