Hello, I'm stuck and need your help.
I created a 6-page contract using the Airtable Page Designer extension.
The problem is twofold: I succeeded in the first step but not the second.
Basically, the Page Designer extension only allows you to edit a single page. I found a way to extend the page height by multiplying it by 6. Except that Airtable doesn't allow you to insert page breaks, and I'm exporting a very long PDF file that I can't split. And no matter how hard I search, I haven't found an acceptable solution for printing this contract correctly.
Do you have any solutions or advice?
Thanks!

Unfortunately, Airtable's Page Designer is very limited, so I don’t think that you will be able to accomplish what you’re looking for with Page Designer.

Perhaps somebody else will have some better Page Designer advice for you, but I feel like your solution is probably going to involve you turning to 3rd-party apps.

Here are a few popular 3rd-party apps for generating documents from Airtable that can do what you’re looking to do:

  1. DocuMint — the original document creation app for Airtable. Creates PDF files.
  1. DocsAutomator — creates Google Docs documents or PDF files.
  1. Make’s integrations — which can be integrated with any document-creation app of your choosing, even something as simple as custom Microsoft Word documents.

If you’ve never used Make before, I’ve assembled a bunch of Make training resources in this thread. For example, here is one way that you can instantly trigger a Make automation from Airtable.

  2. Fillout’s advanced forms for Airtable — This may not be what you need right now, but for future reference, Fillout lets you automatically generate custom PDF files from a form submission.

I show off this feature on this Airtable podcast episode:

Using Fillout to create an eSignature approval process with PDF file creation.

Hope this helps!

Hey @Tom

As mentioned above, you will not be able to achieve that using PageDesigner.
This as always been a need for me, and for many other users -you’ll find several posts on this matter on the Community.

The leanest approach you can probably go with is using make (o n8n) and a simple google docs integration where you’ll be mapping your fields to {placeholders} in between curly brackets on your doc. You can find a simple comparison on Zapier, Make, and n8n (automation tools) here.

I would highly recommend you fill out this Product Idea/Feature Request form, so that Airtable can take a look at it.
