Question

Uploading csv files and linking tables

Forum|alt.badge.img+2

I am looking for a way to upload csv files of data into different tables but have them linked. Is this something I will need to do manually, or through an automation?

I have one table Companies and the other table with Employees. I need the employees linked to the companies table but I am unsure the best/easiest way to do this via csv upload.

Thank you for your help!

A bit of the response here depends on your plan tier, as Business+ has more CSV/Excel integrations available.

At the simplest scale, as long as the names of the Companies are standardized (it’s always “XYZ Co.” and not sometimes “XYZ Company”) and the Name field is the primary field in the Company table, you can honestly just copy/paste the CSV columns in and linkages will be made or new records created as needed.

Hey @Jan123 as mentioned by @DisraeliGears01 there shouldn’t be an issue with it.
If Primary field of the linked table (Table B) is single line text, then just by pasting the value on the linked field on Table A that will automatically create the record on Table A, and link both records together.

You can find the documentation for CSV Import Extension here.
