Hi all,

New to AirTable and have been trying to create a grid where one of the columns needs to be linked to a different record on a row-to-row basis. I have been able to link one record in the column but have found it difficult to add a 2nd record for the next row. Is it even possible to do this in AirTable?

For example:

Row 1 - Column A Links to one record

Row 2     Column A links to a second record

Hope this information is clear, happy to try and clarify if it would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Hey @jcunnin!

For sure. Airtable calls columna “fields” and rows “records”.

Fields can be of different types. In this case, Field A would be of type “Linked Record”. Do note that when setting such field you’ll have to select the table corresponding to the records you’d like to link. You can select only one table per linked record field.

That means that as long as “one record” and “second record” both correspond to the same table, you should be allowed to do that.

I might be missing your point though! Would you mind sharing some screenshots for further reference?
