I turned off an automation as I wasn't ready for it to run. The automation was set to go off at a certain date. When this date was reached the automation ran even though it was turned OFF.
Should automations run if they are turned OFF?

Hello @lp1,
I've setup multiple type of automations in airtable, till now I've not found that type of behavior in automation.
Within airtable automation it's not possible. If any of the normal automation is off then there are no possibility to execute it. You can just test it while your on editing mode.
Even Webhook based automations are also not executed without its turned on.
I recommend you to please clear your browser cache and then check it.

As @dilipborad said above, if your automation is turned off, it will not run.
You can verify this by looking at your automation run history, and you will see that it did not run while it was turned off.
You probably have another automation that is running instead.
