The race sounds like a great time! I’ve built databases for weekend bootcamps, music festivals, and conferences in the past. All the events have many parallels with your run. They are

• multi-day events
• hosting hundreds/thousands of attendees (1500 racers)
• tracking hundreds volunteers/sponsors
• planning specific activities (6 total races)
• holding events in various rooms/stages (or race courses)
