Can the email automation use distribution list email addresses?

Hi, I’ve built some automations to send an email when a button is pressed. In the TO: and CC: fields, we use email addresses that forward to a distribution list. Think something like company_operations@misc.com and that will send to 5 people.

For some reason when the automation runs, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. And it’s very inconsistent in what’s causing the problem.

Any thoughts on what the fix could be? (Other than just listing all the people on the distribution lists individually since that could be 30+ email addresses.)

Thanks in advance!

Could it be an issue with your email server, specifically security software that tries to flag spam and phishing? We use Barracuda and it often hoovers up and impounds Google Notifications for instance. I could see an instance where it judges some Airtable incoming email as suspicious (since it’s automated) and impounds it before it gets to the point of being auto-forwarded.

I mean, you kind of mention it, but one possible workaround is just to create a new table for email distribution groups. I do that in one operations table where 8-10 people are listed as members in specific committees, and then meetings are set up for that committee which autopopulate those members.
