Base Design

I'm trying to upload a survey in Excel to create a Form view, but unable to do so without losing all the formating. Anyone know how to do this? Thanks!

Is there any way to set up an inventory tracking system where someone can scan a QR code, and fill out a form of what they are checking out as well as checking back in? The issue I’m running into is that its fairly easy to create a form with a drop down of what you’re checking out, but when it comes to quantity of what's being checked out, that's where it gets tricky, unless you create a sperate quantity field for each individual piece of equipment, which if you can imagine, you have hundreds of different pieces of equipment, that is extremely inefficient not to mention the form it self would have hundreds of conditional fields. What I had imagined is for example, I scan a QR code, a form comes up, I check out 5 harnesses, 3 lanyards, and 10 beam clamps and click submit. On the user interface, I can look at who checked it out, what equipment they have what department they are etc. When checking back in, they similarly scan a QR code and fill in what they returned. Hello! I am running into an issue where the field count is almost maxed out on two tables in my base and I need the ability to add more fields. In both of the tables, there are many fields that are used for reporting/stats. I considered moving all of those fields to another table but it’s not quite working out. I do closing coordination for real estate agents. The two tables in question are the Properties table and Contacts table. The Properties table has records for each contract. The Contacts table has records for each of my agents. Each property record is linked to the agent for that contract in the Contacts table. Reporting in the Properties table is done based on the agent for things like properties under contract, properties closed X amount of days ago, etc. Reporting in the Contacts table is done based on the agent using rollup/formula fields that reference the Properties table for things like average sales price over X periods, commission totals over X periods, etc. In the new

Hi I receive email orders and would like to add the received emails to the order record in my Airtable. Tried a drag and drop but this transfers the message from Outlook as a .msg, which can’t be read. Occasionally there are multiple emails, and I would like to have them all in the same place, with the particular order. Any help appreciated!

Hi! I’m close to reaching my storage limit on the “Team Plan” (20 GB). I’ve been deleting data to free up space, but I’m not making progress fast enough. Here’s my question: If I have a base with images in X number of rows, and another base with a “lookup” field that mirrors those images from the first base, will the images count twice toward my storage limit?

I’m trying to create a database to track income from various deals. I have several different types of deals with different commission rates and they are covered in separate tables - but often several types of deal will apply to one title (I’m a literary agent) and I’m trying to bring it all together so I know, for each title, what the author earned and what the agency earned. I’ve successfully set this up using look up fields for one set of deals but now I’ve started adding in another set and something is going wrong but I can’t see what I’m doing differently. The main information is clearly coming through because the name field (which is generated via automation when the original table is updated) but the look up fields for those records aren’t pulling through. Any thoughts why that might be? Thanks

Hello! Our organisation has basically a large ‘to-do’ list table which includes a ‘Tag’ multi-select field which I’ve just found out our Editor users can’t add new options to – either directly in the table, or through an interface list/record view. We are on a Team/Pro plan so I can edit the field permissions, which I’ve set to Editors and up and it still doesn’t work. As I am the Owner, I assumed anyone could add new options to this field because I always thought the common issue was trying to stop users from doing that! I really am racking my brain because it feels so simple but I can’t test it without sitting next to an Editor, and also wild that I can’t find others in the community with a similar issue.

Does anyone know a way to save Outlook emails for future reference? Something where you just click and drag the email in to Airtable and open it in Outlook when you click on it. I guess you can drag it in as an attachment but it won’t then you have to download it to again it instead of it just going straight to Outlook and opening it up. Anyone know the best way to store emails on Airtable?

Airtable has come a long way from when I first started where I had to pair it with Excel to get earnings and cashflow projections for my small freelance business. I now have four extensions that give me data I used to have to calculate with Excel, but I’m missing the fifth that would let me ditch Excel completely, and this extension needs the following formula: Projected Available Next Month - Fixed Number=“Left to Earn (negative)/Rollover (positive).” I have the first part to get these numbers and then I have the method to use the answer of the equation to redistribute those numbers in AT according to whether I’m short or flush, but I cannot get that middle calculation in AT. FWIW because my income is so variable, this data lets me even out my earnings and pay myself a regular paycheque. I started doing it manually on paper, then with Excel, then I started in AT and continually improved my base as more features came available. I have created a form and I upgraded it. I have published it, but when I try to copy the url so I can share it, it doesn’t copy. Is there an alternate place to find the form url? When I go back to my base and click on the Form View, it shows the old version, not the upgraded finished version.

I am stumped on how to solve this problem. Our team has 1 table set up that is pulling data from a synced table. We added in new columns to the right of the synced data to be able to add in subtasks and a few other pieces of tracking information. The issue we are running into is there are other ad hoc tasks that need be done that are not on synced table but we need to be able to put the synced data in the same view with the ad hoc tasks. Our only commonality is that we have a linked record for both from an overview table of projects. Is it possible to bring together a synced data table and an ad hoc table into 1 new table for the team to work from?

Hi, I have a company table and a contacts table that are linked. When i click in the linked field of the company table, and click +, i see all the records in the contacts table. I would like to limit the shown records to only those contacts that belong to the company in question. Can anyone advise how i do that plse?

Hello, we run an agency and for every client we have a different base. The base is almost identical for every client. We now have access to the business plan, and we want to use a master base to consolidate the data from every client into one base, so that we can benchmark our performance as a whole, and dive deeper into every client if we wish. We have a table called KPIs in every client base. The KPIs are always the same. For that reason I have created the same base in our master base, and I am now syncing data from master into each client base. We also have a projects table for every client, which includes 3 fields (primary metric, secondary metric, tertiary metric). These field are linked records from the KPI table. In the KPI table (for each client) we can then see how many times a KPI has been used for that client, and the overall uplift for a KPI with a client. Hello, I have a table where one column is a relationship to itself. So I can links records to each other. I’d like to have another column where I show the linked records. Sort of like a Lookup what records are linking to a specific record. I found this 3 year old thread, but it has no solution offered here: Is this something I could do today?
