Hi everyone 👋I’ve recently started using Airtable to track my daily puzzle performance, specifically for Letter Boxed, and I’m trying to build a cleaner, more automated setup.Right now, I have a simple table with: Date Completion status Number of words used Time taken Notes It works fine, but I’d love to improve it a bit.Here’s what I’m hoping to do: Create an automatic daily reminder to log my results Generate a weekly performance summary (average words, success rate, etc.) Possibly visualize progress over time with charts Maybe even trigger a weekly email report I’m still learning Airtable’s automation and formula features, so I’m not sure what the most efficient structure would be. I’m building two workflows in Airtable, Workflow A and Workflow B.Workflow A includes Task 1, Task 2, and Task 3. Workflow B includes Task 4, Task 5, and Task 6.Task 3 in Workflow A cannot begin until Task 2 in Workflow A is completed and Tasks 4 and 5 from Workflow B are also completed.What’s the best way to set up Airtable so I can track cross‑workflow task dependencies like this? These two Workflow’s overlap with eachother so is there a way I can set up like Status’s for each task that when one task is blocked until xyz tasks are marked as completed?

Hi to anyone so grateful.I gone through every setting and cannot change the setting so I canadd a record/bottom row or duplicate because its says "you cannot create a new record because it is configured that no one can add a new record? with a lock sign in the bottom left.I have tried unsynching, changing permissions and checked the plan but no luck at all.Any step by step ideas are so welcome?Thanks

I built a fairly complex Airtable architecture about 12 months ago. Since then, both our operational model and my own Airtable knowledge have evolved significantly.I now want to redesign parts of the structure, including primary fields, relationships, automations, AI usage, and reducing manual inputs, so it’s more scalable and aligned with how we operate today. This means that filtering by year or creating views won’t be a viable solution as would break the data schema needed for the old data and built metrics to work.The challenge is that I have 12+ months of historic data that’s critical for KPIs, forecasting, and performance tracking. I don’t want to lose that history, but I’d like to effectively “start fresh” in 2026 with a cleaner structure focused only on new data.Additional considerations: I need to ensure the archive and the live 2026 base are not structurally connected, changes in one must not affect the other. Hi, I’m new to Airtable and looking to build a database that holds multiple certificates with obtained dates and expiry dates. Is it possible to set one table with all the types of certificates and then link another table with the employee details so that they all end up with a list of different certificates or will I have to enter a whole heap of individual records? I will be use Softr as the app. Thanks for any advice, I havent found a template that does the trick. 

Airtable novice here. I hired a consultant to build an app to track assignments for my company (organized by client contracts). The consultant never really finished the job but the app is about 90% useful however, it’s populated with assignments from a closed contract. Is it possible for me to copy the structure of this app without copying all the inputs? The tables, views, automations and interfaces are good but I need to update the data to reflect the current contract (different pricing schedule, assignments, vendors, etc.)

Hi, I’m another newbie that’s too inexperienced with Airtable to find what I need in this forum. I have tried and tried to solve a problem I have but with no success so I wonder if anyone who knows Airtable well could help me please?I have managed to set up 1 master table and 3 other tables that have data related to the master table. All tables have a common record. I am trying to link the tables, as you would do for example in a relational database like Micrsoft Access, in order to create a view where for each line of data I choose/expand in the master table, the related data from the other 3 tables is also displayed. I just can’t get this to workI suppose the problem might be in the way I have tried to link the tables together?If anyone could spell out in very simple terms what I need to do to sort this out, I’d be very grateful. Is there a way to wrap the text in a filed name?

Im problem solving some workflow issues and finding that lots of lookup fields are not populating data for the vast majority of records. From what i can tell its only populating data for about 1000 records foir each of the fields i checked thus far. I also happened to notice that base views now have a new “showing the first 1000 records of XXXX. Load All Projects” warning/button combo at bottom of screen. Perhaps it is tied to this? This is critical malfunction for our system … hoping someone has a solve here?

Hey all. I have a client to which I am creating some template tasks.  The problem I am facing is that.When the client changes its status, I need to create x amount of tasks. Example attached. I have an automation that adds another relation to Client-Tasks that displays the immediate next task So client has 2 relations to tasks. One to all tasks, one to just the next task, which uses the field.Next task for search to find the right taskThe problem I have is that after my automation creates the template tasks it sort them randomly 

I would like to start off by saying that I have been researching, watching how-to’s and reading the forum for a few weeks now trying to wrap my mind around this issue and I am humbly asking for a hand with this issue I know can be solved (but not by me, apparently) Attaching a diagram to hopefully give the jist of how my current base is laid out. I reviewed the following related topic but would like to do a quick check to make sure I’m on the right track…I work in natural resources but essentially have an inventory type question. I have locations (preserves) with sub-locations that I am tracking inventory from (both receiving and outgoing). I am still building my base and recently realized that I should probably move the locations into its own because multiple tables/records are related to the location AND it’s a bit more complex than a short list of 5 items. As I started building the location (preserve) table, the problem of sub locations came up. I’ve included a couple screenshots of how I have it setup at the moment. Does this look okay from a design/structure standpoint? Ultimately I will have seeds coming from these locations and plants going back to the same or different locations. 

Hi everyone,Looking for real-world experience / benchmarks from folks running large Airtable bases.I’m currently redesigning our team’s base. We’re at ~330k records today (hard limit is 500k) and we’re already seeing performance issues (slow loads, sluggish automations/scripts at peak times, recalculation lag, etc.). Our first version was built to meet immediate needs, and we’re now rebuilding with a more best-practice / scalable approach.Airtable Support mentioned (and we’re also observing) that even with ~170k record “headroom,” the base can still struggle well before 500k depending on schema + computation complexity. Hi! I wanted to put up a topic about a feature which would tell you which fields should be killed. Airtable could develop something which ranks fields by dependencies and “data completion” (data completion being a stat calculated by “Number of Records where Data Exists” / “Total Number of Records”. This way, we could know if theres not a lot of people using this field and secondly, whether there are dependencies. Omni is great but lots of bases get too many fields over time and we have to start deleting them. I want features that make my bases more elegant/simple.

I have a table of contacts that includes zip code for each contact. I want to provide a view of contacts for a given county. I can get a list of zip codes for the county, but it's too many zip codes to list each one as a separate condition on a filter.I thought about setting up a zip code table and using a linked record from the contacts table. Is there a way to create a new linked record field that links based on an existing already-populated column? There are too many records to select linked records manually.Or, is there a way to create a view with filter criteria that references another table?Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi all!I’m having an issue of forms responses not populating into my data table after the form is submitted. This is a unique problem though, because what seems to be happening, is that when a response is submitted, by anyone, it pushes the last response through but doesn’t appear itself.For example, a coworker submitted a test response last Friday. I received the confirmation email on Friday, but the response didn’t populate into the data table UNTIL I submitted my own test response. I immediately saw my coworkers response populate into the data table but not mine, even though I received the confirmation email for my response. Has anyone encountered this before? I’d like to build a base to track our produce prescription program. We have coupons with barcodes to distribute to the patients. Ideally I’d like the health worker to use a barcode scanner to scan the first coupon and the last coupon for each patient. Then I need to populate a table of all the coupons distributed within that range for each patient. I currently have a table set up for “patients” where health workers would assign the coupons. Then I have a table for “Coupons” where I’d like the records to be each coupon code distributed. Any help in how to do this would be appreciated!

Submitting our form causes buffering. The device used to fill out the form is a cell phone.I am not sure if it’s a data issue or maybe the size of the logo used in the form.Can anyone advise about this issue? Thank you

Hello! I am baffled by this issue. Essentially, I am creating a way for my office to check-out certain items (laptop chargers, phone chargers, etc.) using QR codes. I’ve got a form that allows people to use their phones (yay!), and I’ve got an array of QR codes that are just text based and give the name of the item, so every time someone scans them, the text pops up with the item name, and then they answer form questions like:whether the item is being checked out or backed in (the person enters this themselves), the name of the person doing the checkingAnd this is great. My fields track all the information I need, the QR codes work, etc.  BUT I CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME LINK these records to my “Equipment” table, which I am making so our tech team can keep an eye on things like:

I’m creating a list of property. Each item has one or more owners pulled from a separate table. I need to be able to add multiple owners for each property and assign a percentage of ownership. Eg. Property A is 100% owned by Bob    (owner is pulled from another table but percentage is specific to this record)Property B is 50% owned by Bob and 50% owned by Jim. Any ideas?

I track media hits through a Base with 3 tabs/tables: Reporter Info, Media Campaigns and Articles. I’ve been trying to link these 3 tables so when I enter an article’s URL in the Article table, which also has columns for Media Campaign and Reporter Name, it will automatically fill the article URL and Reporter Name in the Media Campaigns table...and the article URL and media campaign name will appear in the Reporter Info table under the Reporter’s Name. I have managed to link the Articles table to the Media Campaigns, so the article’s URL will auto-fill but the corresponding Reporter field won’t automatically appear for that Campaign. And If I’m on the Reporters page, and select the reporter’s name, I have to enter the Media Campaign name, which then does auto-fill the article URL tied to that media campaign and reporter.But I want

Hello!We have a medium-sized team (50 people) that has recently moved to a newly built interface. Everyone in this team will have editor permissions for all of the fields that they see in the interface pages.We also want to be transparent with our entire org (300 people) and share this interface with them as many will be making requests via a form that creates record in this interface. However, we’d like to restrict them to editing only a few fields.Is this possible? Or will I just have to limit them to having commenter permissions?

Is there any word on a feature to allow users to change the day of the week that you use for the first day of the week? I know a lot of US calendars will use Sunday for some reason, but I don’t actually know any businesses that run on a Sunday start. I’ve always used a Monday start to the week. And I’m pretty sure most of the rest of the world uses Monday to start the week.I noticed people have been asking this for almost 8 years according to the help center. And it seems like the easiest change.People were trying to suggest that we change our browser settings to some part of the world that does Monday start, and others were reporting that that doesn’t actually change the user experience. And making that change messes up every other application I use, so it doesn’t make sense. I am trying to figure out what is the best way to track tasks that have multiple layers and steps in Airtable. Let’s use an example here to explain: There is a task at my company where we track the payment for assets we purchased from a third party source which...Step 1 - requires sending an LOD (Letter of Direction) and making sure the LOD is acceptedStep 2 - tracking the payment is made to my companyStep 3, if applicable - tracking the pass through of a payment that was made to the prior payee rather than our company (which happens when the LOD is not accepted in time before the next payment cycle) So I would name each task (1) LOD, (2) Payment, and (Pass Through). Each task would have the following statuses to track:(1) LOD - Need to Send; Sent and Awaiting Confirmation; Revising LOD; LOD Accepted.(2) Payment - Waiting for Payment; Missed Payment; Paid.(3) Pass Through - Need to Request Pass Through, Requested,

We use a standardized setup of multiple Airtable bases per project, with one base acting as a central master.Example:For project P1, Workspace 1 contains three bases: A1 (master), B1, and C1.There are one-directional syncs from A1 → B1 and A1 → C1.We want to duplicate this setup for a new project (P2) into a new workspace, resulting in bases A2, B2, and C2, while: retaining the same sync structure (A2 → B2 and A2 → C2), keeping all interfaces intact, and minimizing manual setup or reconfiguration. Achieving this would allow us to deploy a reusable, project-based Airtable application with minimal effort.
