Woo~ Super, super excited to join this session and share some of my go-to Airtable hacks!!

  • Using formulas and formatting to create color-coded single-select options
  • Adding in-line breaks and bullet points for cleaner looking text fields
  • Reducing clutter (like ‘ “” ’ ) and duplicates from using linked fields in formula and rollup fields

Depending on time, I’d also love to share how I use flowcharts to map conditional logic for Airtable native automation actions. Can’t wait to see what other folks are using as well! 🎉🤗🎉

Thanks to everyone who joined this Tips & Tricks event! We had a fast-paced session packed with practical advice from Airtable experts, and the chat was buzzing with even more community tips. If you missed it, here are the top highlights:

3 Key Takeaways 👀

  • Dynamic Linked Record Filtering: @pwin25 shared how to use dynamic filters in linked records, making it easier to display only relevant options in forms and views. This is a game-changer for managing complex relationships between tables and streamlining user experience, especially in education workflows. The new AI-powered field agents can also automate and enhance these connections.
  • Data Cleanup & Visual Clarity: @Blessing_Nuga  demonstrated how to use roll-up fields with array functions to remove duplicates and clean up data, plus tips for using formula fields to create color-coded, single-select-style outputs. These tricks help keep large tables organized and visually clear, making it easier to manage and interpret data.
  • Automation & Collaboration Enhancements: @jerilee  and @gaston highlighted new features like the ability to add descriptions to automations for better team collaboration, and leveraging AI and structured data (like JSON) in automations to streamline processes such as mentor matching. These updates make it easier to track changes, troubleshoot, and build more powerful workflows.

We also heard from many of you in the survey that you enjoyed the quick session but would like for us to have a specific category for the tips next time, and maybe organize these sessions so they’re for beginners, advanced users, etc. I absolutely love this idea - thanks to everyone for the feedback!

🎬 Do you have tips and tricks you’d like to share during an upcoming session? Let us know in the comments below - we’d love to celebrate your knowledge!
