Hello! I am excited to learn from everyone.

How has Airtable helped you unlock wins for your work in the EDU world? We use Airtable to drive many different initiatives. One of the larger ones is tracking ASU Onlines course developments, course outcomes, quality assurance checks, and  various workflows related to those courses. These workflows leverage data from our "data warehouse" allowing us to stay in sync with the rest of ASU.

Airtable has really helped many teams at ASUO scale and automate many of their workflows and processes from webinars to what tools we integrate into the ASU learning ecosystem.

How has Airtable helped you unlock wins for your work in the EDU world?

We began using Airtable in 2021 to manage an $11M federal grant project called CHOICE.  We use Airtable as the backbone of our custom-built dashboard  that integrates into our Canvas LMS and automates tasks, enabling our small team of six to efficiently manage complex programs and serve teachers from over 100 divisions across the state. Airtable also enables us support initiatives like the "Instruction to Industry" career exploration events in northern Virginia, managing data and communications for hundreds of students and employers. Additionally, we've built a dashboard for Sacramento County Office of Education to oversee a $15M computer science grant, expanding equitable, scalable professional learning in California. This past spring we kicked off a partnership with the Charleston County School District to streamline federal grant management and professional development processes, with plans to broaden Airtable use countywide.

How has Airtable helped you unlock wins for your work in the EDU world?

Airtable has revolutionized how I manage operations and programs in the higher education sector, particularly in supporting commercialization and student entrepreneurship. By centralizing data and automating processes, it has allowed me to streamline event coordination, manage student schedules, and track performance metrics across multiple initiatives.

Through Airtable, I've created scalable templates for tracking events, expenses, and programs, which have not only improved transparency but also reduced administrative overhead. The platform's flexibility enables me to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, integrate with other tools like Tableau and Salesforce, and provide actionable insights for decision-making.

One of the most impactful wins was implementing Airtable to oversee the logistics of large-scale events, such as a tradeshow-style entrepreneurship demo day featuring 100 startups, ensuring seamless communication and execution. Additionally, its automation features have saved hours of manual work, allowing me to focus on strategic priorities.

Hi everyone! Glad to see so many folks in education taking advantage of Airtable.

How has Airtable helped you unlock wins for your work in the EDU world?

I was introduced to Airtable by a colleague to help me manage an annual faculty peer observation event with lots of moving parts--before then I was using tons of spreadsheets and manually copying and pasting updates from one to another on a daily basis, and it pretty much consumed all of my time. Once I realized how much Airtable could make my planning process I started using it for other events, and then project management, until I got to my "big one:" a complete database and directory for the large faculty fellowship program I coordinate that includes and connects everything from the moment they apply through when they transition to program alumni, including a decade of records from dozens of spreadsheets and miscellaneous documents that had been haphazardly stored and were nearly impossible to track. Now I can look up any fellow and see not only their progress in the program, but every committee they've been on, every incoming fellow they mentored, and every "impact" (article, presentation, resource) they've submitted for our web directory, all in one place. I have so much data about the history of the program/applicants/acceptance over time that I could never utilize before because it was all over the place, and using interfaces I can present that data to campus leadership to petition for additional funding. None of that was possible before migrating everything to Airtable.

I've also become a bit of an Airtable evangelizer, and have gotten my entire center on board with using it in a variety of ways. We're slowly working on other campus units to find other users and hopefully end up with an institutional license, so we can take advantage of the enterprise features we know we'd benefit from. I'd love to hear from anyone else in higher ed about the types of plans they're using (team, business, enterprise, etc), how widely Airtable is used at their institution, and anything else you'd want to share! I'm also happy to answer questions about the fellowship program management base--it's affected every part of my job in positive ways and I love helping others benefit in the same ways.

Hi EDU group!
I’m Kara and just recently moved from hi tech marketing to the Stanford Alumni Association as the Marketing Manager for Advertising & Partnerships. Based in sunny Northern California, the Palo Alto campus is in full spring swing, in both temp and landscaping.

Airtable is amazing and I’m soaking up all the learning I can to help our mighty team automate as much as we can. So far, it has helped me immensely with forms as our advertisers submit requests to us today via email (a very laborious process at the moment).

I’m looking for colleagues in the EDU space or others who are trying to:

-Prefill a data table to a form 1-1, customized for each advertiser

-Pull first form customer data into a new invoice order form, add pricing info, enable signature acknowledging our Ts&Cs

-Feeding my airtable due dates to Outlook

-Automatically feeding from a google sheet - one team uses sheets, we are going to use airtable

-Make the length of a field shorter - example my $ field in the form cuts across the full survey and I want it shorter.

Thrilled to be here and learning from you all!

Kara
