I also will cast a vote. But I am curious, does anyone from Airtable read these? I have seen multiple-year requests like this without any acknowledgment from Airtable, are we all just talking to the wind?

+1 from me too. It is too restrictive in it’s current form.

I sort of found a work around for this. You can use the matrix block. Choose your real lookup field for the columns. Then choose a second lookup field for the rows that has the same value for every record in the table. In my case I made a new table called ‘Matrix’ and then added a Matrix field to my table.

The downside of this is that you can’t customize the cards. They only show the primary field.

does this workaround still work? i can’t seem to select a lookup field for the matrix block

+1 5+ years later. The gyrations required to move to single select are such a waste.

+1 I really need this.

I have been using Airtable for years and years and I have needed this feature for years and years. Airtable: Can you not understand how important this feature is? This is the basics of relational databases. The problem is always the same: I have a record of vendors, and I have a record of orders. Or I have a record of employees and a record of tasks. I want to link vendors to orders, and kanban orders by vendor.

Every time I try to use Airtable to solve a problem, I run into this. I can’t progress past this, and this is what keeps me from really fully committing to the product.

Ce serait vraiment utile.

Plus 1 here. Surprised to arrive here and see this concept receiving no suggested workarounds, or understandings, for years. Are we missing an obvious alternate approach?

+1 for me. Would eliminate a workaround and make airtable less complicated to use.

+1 here too, I have large list of items that have associations with projects, would be nice to see all these items sorted into separate cards by project name.

+1 for me. Why has this been requested for 6 years with no movement?

Super useful idea. Yes please Airtable - close out 2022 with this much demanded feature (and improvements to Page Designer :grinning_face_with_sweat: )

+1 !!! Why are we still waiting for this…for years?!
Pleeaaase bump this up on the roadmap.

I realize we’re dealing with linkages but it seems that pointers should be straightforward if perhaps this feature is limited to fields where linking to multiple records is not allowed.

Kanban is the quickest way in my experience to manually manage stages or queues, especially in facilitated group sessions. I have also found that Kanban is the easiest way for collaborators who are not savvy nor comfortable with grouped grid views to adopt and manage via the tool. (i.e. Kanban is more similar to tactile process systems). When time permits and the process use warrants, I have implemented some interfaces and automations, but we could have gained adoption much quicker if we could have simply employed a Kanban. It is critical to our team growth that airtable administrative time does not become a barrier.

Thank you for your consideration.

Yes. This is a feature that would open up AirTable

I’d love to see the ability in the iOS mobile app to stack kanban records by linked tables/records too. Seems I can do it on desktop but when I open the app on my phone the whole layout is different and I cannot customise it in the same way. So now I have two different interfaces for my data across devices.
