I have a lot of options in my multi-select field. I would like a way to group them more efficiently than having to drag each one (and alphabetical doesn’t help in my case). For example, lets say my multi-select field is “Food”. and every type of food is an option. It would be nice to group the potential options into a pre-defined group, such as “Fruits” or “Vegetables” or “Meats”. Then I could color code the whole group at once. Or I can could re-order the whole group at once. And when I add more options, I can simply add it to a specific group and it will inherit the color and order in the group.
A related request is basically to have a more sophisticated screen by which you can create your options for single and multi-select fields. It would be great to be able to copy these fields from one base to another without having to color code them all again, etc.

Currently the pie chart chooses it’s own colours with no input available from users.
It would be helpful to be able to use the same colours that the field uses in the table format. For example, if I have a field titled “Priority” where “High” is Red, “Medium” is Orange, and “Low” is Yellow, I would like a pie chart with “Priority” as the Categories field to be coloured such that the fraction representing “High” is coloured Red, “Medium” Orange, and “Low” Yellow.
I think that extending the colour selection from the record level to the presentation level would represent a significant improvement to what it probably Airtable’s greatest weakness.

We use Links to show how deliverables (in one table) relate to open projects (in another table). As deliverables are completed, they can be hidden in the table view of Deliverables, but they remain visible in the Linked column in the Projects table.
I feel like expanding which records are shown through Links would be a massive boon for anyone who wants to form more of a relationship between different tables.

Hello!
I like to use Airtable to prototype ideas and share them. One of the latest prototypes I’ve put together is a databse of aftermarket parts for the Toyota Supra. However one of the thing that bugs me is that there isn’t anyway for me to gauge interest, view count for the whole base or specific items would be great to see if this is something I should put more effort into and test if I’m reaching product-market fit.
Would love to see this integrated as I have more ideas I want to MVP using Airtable.
PS: I can’t post links here but would be happy to share

Feature suggestion: the ability to hide/archive a table within a base. I’m not talking about records, nor am I talking about creating a link to a view to share with others. I actually want to hide a table that I’m not currently using but that I also don’t want to delete. (For example: I have three content calendars, and I ended up not using one. I don’t want to delete it because I hope to use it in the future, but I also don’t need it cluttering my view every day.) Thanks!

It would be great to be able to perform functions like duplicate, hide, delete, etc. for more than one column at once. You can select multiple but as soon as you right click, it deselects.

Hi! Yes I said it - I need some unstructured in Airtable! I would like a “free form” view like a Canvas view with the option to add relations between record. I like Airtable because is so organized and structured but sometimes it’s not nice (and creative) to be unstructured :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: I would use it for a more open brainstorm or mindmap session that it could then organize more in grid view or the like. The process would be just to add and group records before you had defined all the field data. Sometimes you just want to get started with something I like the way calendar works where you have a menu with the records on the side that you can drag in and out. So instead of the calendar, it would just be an infinite canvas.

I have a base that has multiple tables with different kinds of items (RFIs, Submittals, To Do list, Change Orders) and I want the main tab to have a list of only the open items from each category. How would one go about doing this?

I would like to link to a linked field on a table so that on the third table, the list presented is a subset of the records in the context of the second table. That probably makes no sense so I’ll try to sketch it out: Table A A Record1 A Record2 A Record3 A Record4 A Record5 A Record6 A Record7 Table B B Record1 linked to: A Record2 A Record5 A Record6 A Record7 B Record2 linked to: A Record3 A Record5 Table C C Record1 linked to: B Record1 What I would like to create on table C is a column that links to Table A in the context of Table B. So that if I want a link to Table A in the context of Table B, I’m only shown the corresponding records from Table A as selection choices, rather than ALL records from Table A. In the example above, linking C Record1 to B Record1, the link to linked field on table C would only list A Record2, A Record5, A Record6, A Record7 instead of the entire contents of Table A. Is this possible today or is this only available as a feature request?

Hey Airtable, Would be awesome if there could be a better way (a new type of table) to create a 2D junction table between regular tables. Example: Table 1: SCENES from a movie Table 2: CHARACTERS from a movie Table 3: COSTUMES available for the movie Junction 2D table: COSTUMES that are worn in a given scene by the characters Note that: we need to know which costume is assigned to which character a given costume can be worn by one actor in a scene and worn by another actor in another scene Therefore, an easy way to represent that junction table junction table would be as a matrix (classic excel): Where we would choose the 2 tables that populates the rows & columns (here SCENES & CHARACTERS) with all their possible values and we would add the junction values directly in the grid where needed. The COSTUMES table also exist as regular table on its own since it may be useful to describe other attributes for each costume. The problem is of course that with Airtable as it is today, when the number of records of the tables you want to join gets high and is subject to regular changes, it’s a pain to maintain a proper junction table (where every combination must be entered manually). I also thought, maybe the new matrix block can help to avoid creating a junction table, but that means the results are not representing the data from my original example anymore. (I recreated in Excel the result of the matrix block to make it more compact) So a 2D table type that could be used as easy junction tables would be super great ! Any supporters about this feature ? Thanks Cheers ! R.
