Billing is very ambiguous and confusing. In the admin portal we cannot see who is billable and who is not. It needs to be more clear who is a free user and who is a paid user. EDITED - What I really meant is the comments section on an individual record. I have found that the notes section works really well to keep tabs on what is going on with a task because it date stamps them, and I can quickly scroll back through if I get confused or need reminding on something, and sometimes I want to clue in other people about something, so I @ them, but then it automatically marks them as “watching” that record. And I don’t want them to get continuous notifications every time I make a note if it doesn’t relate to them. I could ask them to “unwatch” the record, but that just adds in another annoying step that I wish I could take care of my end as the main owner of the bases for my projects/team, and then I might want to direct another comment at them, in which case they would be marked as “watching” the record again. If they are getting continuous notifications that don’t relate to them, it will make it into a “boy who cried wolf” type of situation. They will be less likely to pass attention to them, and might miss a note that really is important for them to read and follow up on. ... View more

Hi, We create a lot of views in our Airtable to share with clients, but all these views have to be deleted after a while. It’s a long list of views, and manually deleting each one is a very long and inconvenient process. Instead of going through the whole views list, clicking a view, deleting it, and doing that over and over – isn’t there any way to do this in bulk, or just quicker? I’ve checked the API docs and find nothing on handling views, so I’m afraid I’m out of luck there too? Anyone got any ideas? ... View more

For many of the Airtable bases I work in, I am both an admin (Creator or Owner) and a normal user (Editor). It would be very helpful to be able to quickly change my permission level within a given session to be a level lower than the one I’m assigned to in a given base (and even have that choice persist across sessions). I can’t count the number of times I’ve accidentally added a value to a single- or multi-select field list, or made other unintentional creator-level changes while editing data in a base, and usually doing undo doesn’t actually undo the structural changes, just the data changes. This seems like a very easy feature to add and would be a big help to all of the casual creator/editors out there! The alternative is to have multiple logins, which adds cost and complexity. Follow the Slack model and only bill for users who are active. I had to downgrade my account because our number of users increased (and therefore our monthly bill increased), but most of them either only need access for a little while or they’re infrequent users. It would be great if we could query the list of collaborators and the bases for which they have access via the API or download it from the portal. The current UI makes it very tedious to audit the current user base. My current work around is to copy the payload of workspaceSettings.json which arrives when navigating to the airtable.com/wspXXXXXXXXX/workspace/billing. The key billableUserBreakdown appears to have all the data I need. Even just being able to download that file using my API key would be a huge benefit. ... View more
