I’m consulting for a company in the capacity of process planning and process documentation. Flowcharts is one of the first tools I am using. I decided to try out Airtable in hope for future flexibility instead of using the usual Visio, lucid, StarUML, etc. I immediately ran into the problem of not being able to select different shapes for different records (Diamond=decision, rectangle=process, etc). General lack of flexibility for the view because it is either all vertical or all horizontal. ABC flowcharting is connecting processes using their predecessors not their successors. (it is more important to know that A needs to be done before B in order to begin B, rather than what comes after A. Well everything comes after A). I’m working around this right now, but would be nice to see the change. 4)100 record limit. I ordered the above in terms of importance for my case. Thank you 🙂 P.S. I’m using Airtable to manage an online community that relies heavily on SMS text notifications. When members want to change their settings, they text a number and receive a link to modify their settings. I’m using a prefilled Airtable form to do this and it works great, except that I have very large multiple select field that needs to prefill with all options selected. In order to accomplish this, the prefilled form URL ends up being SUPER LONG. Also, anytime I add additional options to that multiple select field (which happens a couple times a month), I have to remember to go update my prefilled form URL template. I would love to see support for a simple URL modifier that prefills all available values in the multiple select field in one shot. Something nice and short like ‘=all_values’. Thanks! ... View more

In a sheet with a lot of columns and formulas added, it difficult to easily identify the input columns from columns that are automatically populated through formulas, roll-ups and look-up functions. It would be useful to be able to colour code the header label/icon of a column or an entire vertical column: When customising a column/field type it if the user could assign a colour to the column. This could colour code the header, icon or perhaps the entire column (similar to the appearance when a column is used for sorting). OR: Perhaps this could even be automated eg. Field types that populate column with automated data (eg. look-up, formula and roll-up field types) could have a different coloured icon/header/column to the columns where data needs to be manually input. This would make it clearer which are input columns vs automated formula columns. For example, when creating creating an excel spreadsheet I would always colour code the input columns codes to make these easy to identify against the automated columns that users don’t need to touch. I have my data grouped by year / month (which are formula fields generated from the date field). In this grouped view, it is not possible to add a new record. It is crazy! The data will always be in this view and grouped like this since it is accounts for different months. As far as i see, i have to ungroup everything to then add a record and then regroup everything to see the data in a way that makes sense, its super clunky and totally illogical. Is there a workaround for this? i just started using the software, but if this is a real limitation, its much faster to go back to use excel as its totally broken like this. Consider having the following in an interface: Timeline element AND Record picker or record review list Request I think it would be very practical, on the timeline element, to have a configurable option that when an element is clicked, it would link with the record picker or record review selected item. Concrete example: I have a list of tasks to reviews and a timeline at the top showing all the due dates for the filtered tasks. Under the timeline is the details for the selected task (from the list). This would allow for direct switch of the details by using either one of the list of tasks or the timeline itself. ... Hello Airtable Powers That Be! I am sure this has been suggested before, but it would be a HUGE upgrade if the Shared View URL filters had more operators. Right now, I would specifically like to request the “contains” operator. If we could use the URL filter to check for “contains”, then it could function with Linked Record and look up fields when multiple values are returned. Also, the URL could use a shorthand instead of the full string.
