If we had the ability to post comments to a record using the API, then we’d be able to turn AirTable into a true CRM with a flow of constant communication being added as comments to a contact’s record in a table.
To extend this further, you could use Zapier to do the following:
Email - Grab content fro incoming email, put content as a comment under an associated ‘Individual Contact’ record as a comment. Anytime you open up that Individual contact, you’ll be able to see the thread of all emails sent and received (as comments).
SMS (text message) - We would be able to use Ring Central or a compatible cloud SMS phone system to put all text message content under an associated ‘Individual Contact’ record as a comment. Anytime you open up that Individual contact, you’ll be able to see the thread of all SMS messages sent and received (as comments).
And the list could go on with any service an individual or business uses to communicate with vendors, teammates or customers (if those services are supported by Zapier).

Feature request unless there is a way to accomplish this already that I am missing (other than creating 15 fields which gets very noisy)
In building a database to track numerous testing events would like to keep track of the required instrumentation to accomplish that test. The instrumentation has the attributes of: type, number required, and required sample rate. The types of available instrumentation are fixed, but the number & sample rate could be anything depending on the test. So right now I have a multi-select that looks like this:
and a notes field after it where people can further elaborate. It would be nice to force people into entering information consistently, so in a perfect world I would have a single field where the muliti-select options can be selected and then if picked, sub fields would open up in which to input the sub-attributes. Something that would provide the implied functionality like this:
Very open to suggestion from folks as to a clean way to accomplish this without creating a very wide table with many fields.

I’d like to request, as the title suggests, adding ‘weekdays’ as a DATETIME_DIFF ‘unit’
My Use-Case
I’m writing a simple PTO log and request form, in the longer view, to track annual PTO usage blah-blah-blah. I know, PTO is so anachronistic…
Anyway, right now I use a request form with a begin date and end date query fields but in this case it is also necessary to ask, ‘how many work-days will you be gone?’ Which is kind of weird.
I would automate this process with a DATETIME_DIFF() formula field in the log if I could but I’ve not been able to come up with a way to eliminate weekends from that duration. Which could always be user error. Admittedly
This is really the equivalent of a function in Excel called NETWORKDAYS(), which if that’s easier to implement, I’m all for that too.

It would be great to jump straight from Page Designer into an email with the page attached, whether that would be handled internally, or by Outlook, etc… (also with ability to pull email from a field would be a bonus!)
Currently, we have to hit the Print button, then Print To PDF, then name and save the PDF, then go to email, then compose a message, then type in email address, then hit attachment, then browse to the folder where it was saved, and then attach it… and I have to do this on many in a row! Ug!

First off, what an awesome platform you guys are developing! I’m a die-hard Excel fan, and even use Excel Online. But this is posing to be a real threat to that.
I have a suggestion for a field type that I, and probably others, would find useful. Sometimes I like to use little icons (but not checkmarks) as data in fields. Kind of like tags, but image-based. Multi select or single select choices would be cool too.
As far as the icons themselves, you could start with some basic ones: a star, exclamation mark, up/down arrows, basic emoticons. And you could allow users to create/upload their own.

Would be nice to have duplicate record option in iOS app. Also would be nice if you can set only specific columns to duplicate. We have automations set by single select drop down actions and when we duplicate a record would be nice to not have it duplicate the action automatically. Hope that makes sense

Is there a way to filter a table by keyword that searches across all columns?
I would like something like the current ctrl/cmd+f feature, but instead just highlighting the rows that have a hit, the rows are filtered in.
I could do a hacky workaround where I concatenate all the columns in a calculated column, but this is impractical in bases with 30+ fields
