+3Like the title says can you add a subscript into text in an automation email. I have tried the following "CO<sub>2</sub> but it doesn't work. I have found that you can add lots of other HTML tags like <b></b> for bold and <p style:"blah blah;"></p> to achieve other formatting outcomes but the <sub></sub> tag doesn't seem to work.
Is there a way to do this?

Airtable only supports a small subset of HTML tags: <b>,<br> <u>, <strong>, <em>, <img>, <a> and <span>. You can also include inline CSS by adding a style attribute to your HTML tags.
if you want to use the full range of HTML tags with your emails, then you would need to use an automation tool like Make, which offers full HTML support.
There are dozens of different ways to trigger a Make automation, but one very powerful way is to trigger a webhook, which I describe here.

I've been laying low, but wanted to toss a thought into the hat here.
This is weird and probably creates more questions than it answers. I've spent the past two months trying to get my brain around Airtable's support for certain HTML tags inside of email automations to get a solution in place for generating custom emails out of Airtable.
If you nest certain HTML tags inside of elements that Airtable supports at the top-layer, then they will render in the email. A good example is <table> tags. I found that if you nest <table> tags inside of supported elements, then you can get it to render.
That being said, it was extremely unpredictable and there was a lot of experimenting involved. I would absolutely not recommend that a team or individual user put in the hours to experiment and write Airtable compatible HTML email templates.
While I highly recommend a solution like Make, if your back is against the wall and you have no choice, it is possible.

I appreciate the suggestions. I have been doing similar things with equally variable results. I'm hearing when it get out of the simple then go for Make or similar. Working in the carbon industry I can't get away with not writing CO<sub>2</sub> properly
