Hi

We can see heaps of US based companies that use this software, However we were wondering what other Australian Companies use this as we cannot see any under customer stories.

Hi CSSD, We indeed have many Australian customers using Airtable, well into the many hundreds and many notable brands. Watch this space as we are close to publishing some Australian customer stories.

How can we assist you in evaluating Airtable?

Thank you James,
could you possibly give us some more insight into some of these brands?

Oooh, I’ve got one!

I’m primarily a manufacturing consultant, but one of my clients introduced me to Airtable some years ago and since then I’ve built some great bases for other uses, but this post focuses on that client that introduced me.

The company is a metal fabricator - complex product with customised features for each client. The end product is AUD $300k to $500k, and sometimes up to $1.5 million. Lead times vary 6 months to 2 years, some with critical delivery dates that are locked in that far in advance. So, each build is treated like a project. There are between 50 and 100 projects on the books at any given time. Around 50 people in size, mostly production staff. There are links to the timeclock system, and iAuditor/SafetyCulture.

Airtable has been transformative - we’ve effectively used Airtable to build a custom ERP system. One base handles sales enquiries/CRM, another handles after sales service. A third handles skills matrix and training. The main base handles projects, task planning, progress tracking, profitability, visual displays, real time reporting, long lead purchase planning and tracking, and more.

The fundamental benefit of Airtable - single source of truth, appropriately accessible, is present, of course. In addition, the core functionality - projects that have tasks with dates - unlocks key business abilities that weren’t previously available, including:

  • forecast workload, and hire accordingly,
  • confidently commit to promised dates well in advance,
  • reschedule at the push of a button (custom script in automation)
  • manage extremely long lead supply chains, with thin markets that lack alternatives, and
  • custom dashboards for all levels, unluding real time profit/loss at Director level.

Airtable absolutely works really well for small to medium companies, in Australia, and not just large corporates. This was achieved with a kick-start from an experienced base builder, then has been taken on by people within the company.

Hope this helps someone!
