Hello,

I have a table where one column is a relationship to itself. So I can links records to each other.

I’d like to have another column where I show the linked records. Sort of like a Lookup what records are linking to a specific record.

I found this 3 year old thread, but it has no solution offered here:

Is this something I could do today?

This still isn’t a thing we can do easily yet I’m afraid

Try googling for ‘backlinking scripts’, there are a couple of scripts floating around that you could adapt to your needs.  If you’re in a hurry, I’d recommend just buying @kuovonne’s script for this: https://kuovonne.gumroad.com/l/joRkE

Thanks @TheTimeSavingCo! This is rather unfortunate. It took me one click in Notion. I was hoping for at least a Formula. This missing features sort of leaves Airtable between Excel and a proper Relational Database.

I’ve used Justin Barrett’s script for showing recursive hierarchy and it works beautifully (not as well as native two way linking in the same table, but for where we are...)

The forum thread is here, you can mostly just copy the script and put in your variables. I think with some out of the box thinking you could leverage the recursive hierarchy as the foundation for an automation to create the parent or child link.

Hey @Lukacs this is obviously a big issue we’ve been dealing with for a long time now.

Would be nice if you could fill out this Feature Request form to make sure Airtable receives enough of this submissions for this issue!
