Hi Community,

I would like to create a form that creates multiple records on the same table to assist me with counting stock inventories. Ideally the form would look something like this:

Form Example:

Table with new records created example:

Is there any AirTable features or extensions that could allow this?

Thanks for your help.

Jacob

You have a few different ways of doing this:

  1. Your best bet is to use Fillout’s advanced forms for Airtable.

Fillout is 100% free, and it offers hundreds of features that Airtable’s native forms don’t offer, including the ability to create new linked records on a form, update existing Airtable records using a form, display Airtable lookup fields & Airtable rollup fields & Airtable attachments & formulas on forms, control access to a form via SSO or email domains, perform math or other live calculations on your forms, accept payments on forms, collect signatures on a form, create multi-page forms with conditional paths, connect a single form to dozens of external apps simultaneously, add CAPTCHAs to your form, and much more.

I show how to use a few of the advanced features of Fillout on these 2 Airtable podcast episodes:

    • Using Fillout to create an eSignature approval process with PDF file creation
    • Using Fillout to create an order entry form with line items.

  2. Another way of doing this would be to use JotForm in conjunction with Make's JotForm integrations.

JotForm offers a widget called the configurable list widget, which will let you enter multiple rows on a single form.

After a form is submitted, you would then use Make to bring all of the rows into Airtable as separate records.

The reason that you will need to use Make is because all of the rows will be coming in from JotForm as raw JSON, so you will need to use Make's Parse JSON module to loop through the rows.

Take a look at the 2 screenshots below to see how absolutely simple this is to setup in Make.

Hope this helps!

p.s. If your company has a budget for your project and you’d like to hire an expert Airtable consultant to help you with any of this, please feel free to contact me through my website: Airtable consulting — ScottWorld
