How many rows/columns/cells can Airtable handle at its maximum limit? For example, Google Sheets can handle up to 10 million records. What’s the limit for the Airtable?

You can have a maximum of 500 fields/columns per table. The maximum number of records/rows depends on your plan—pro plans are limited to 50,000 records per base, this a maximum of 50,000 in one table.

However, as you approach these limits you may find that your base slows down.

If you need millions of rows of data, Airtable may not be the right platform for you.

@kuovonne Thanks for your thoughts on this. It would help us decide on the database stuff.

I fully realize this post is 3 years old…

However I still feel compelled to post because the question of “maximum data” wasn’t fully answered. (nothing against @kuovonne, they gave a beyond adequate response, in fact their answer is closer to what the OP was looking for than what I’m about to give... I just wanted to add some details)

I can’t speak to the speed of Airtable bases with millions of records because I’ve never reached those numbers. However, the maximum data of an Airtable base is actually quite impressive.

Max Cells Max Cell Characters Cells multiplied by characters
Google Sheets 10 million 50,000*  500 Billion Characters
Airtable 250 million* 100,000* 25 Trillion Characters

*based on Enterprise level record(rows) limit of 50,000 and field(columns) limit of 500.

**based off claims by google sheets for characters per cell and Airtables claims for max characters for a long text field.
