Hey folks!

I’ve been working with Airtable on possible options for meeting, discussing, and working through some of the ideas that you all had at the last meetup and in the survey responses. I’ve got 2 ideas I’d like to work through with y’all and see if they pan out.

1. Remote working sessions

There were a fair number of folks who were working with Airtable as non-IT folks and without a lot of support from the rest of their organization. Whether this is because it’s a departmental tool or there’s limited staffing/budget, this seems to be a pretty common struggle for us.

I’d like to suggest a recurring, informal, drop-in working session for those that would like it. If that’s something you’re interested, please let me know! My Fridays are generally pretty open, so maybe every 6 weeks around 1pm? This would make it so we’re doing the working sessions between meetups. Would love your thoughts.

2. Twice quarterly meetups

First off, yes, I would LOVE some help with these. They’re not a huge lift, but @Cherry_Yang2 was such a stress relief for me and I’d love to keep that energy going. If I can get another person for each meetup to work with on what we’re doing, where we’re going, and just being a friendly social butterfly at the event, it would be amazing.

At the event we also had people coming from as far North as Vancouver and as far South as Puyallup. I’d like to grow our crowd and that may mean ½ of the events happening in Seattle and ½ the events in other locations (Everett, Tacoma, Bellevue, etc.). If you’re wanting these to happen in other locations, could you please let me know where and if you’re willing to help me organize?

And the last thing is what we’re going to be doing. The meet and greet was so much fun getting to know you all but there were also requests for specific topics. Things like a Nonprofit Show and Tell, Free Base Building, AI Integration Show and Tell, or Building For Security might be some of the topics to go over. Are there any that you’d like to see or lead?

Overall, though

It was awesome getting to meet everyone. I’m really looking forward to doing another and learning from you all. I hope your week is treating you well!

💖,
Chris

Thanks for setting up the first one, and I’m definitely up for whatever.

I like the remote working sessions idea, it’s a bit more of a functional meetup than a networking meetup like the in-persons trend towards. 1PM Fridays generally work for me to hop on.

As for in-persons, going a smidge farther north or off the 405 would help out us more northerly-based folks. That said I’ll still try to make whatever I can. If you wanted to do Bellingham, I’m sure I can drum up a location, but that might be too far for you Seattleites haha

lol - @DisraeliGears01, 3 of my (adult) kids live in Bellingham so I wouldn’t complain about the excuse to visit them. 😉 But I think you’re right that we’d otherwise have pretty limited attendance from the folks in Seattle. If we were to do a Bellingham meetup, do you think there would be enough engagement from neighboring counties? Maybe you’ve heard of other orgs/businesses using it around you?
