Dynamic record templates

Would save me a lot of time if I could generate templates dynamically. See, I have a billing profile table and an child invoice table and would like to pull the values for the invoice table from the billing profile table. Now, I had set it up with lookup fields but the problem came up that when the billing profile is changed then all the historical invoices are too . . . So now I have it set up with an automation, but then you're limited to one trigger and big automations like that seem to break often. So a template where I could use data from fields within a parent record would be amazing. I would just create a invoice from the billing profile and the fields would get filled in from the data in the billing profile.

This would enable ability to highlight/bring attention to specific comments in long text fields. This should be functional in both Data and Interface layers.

What is the proposed idea/solution? We would like to be able to format the expanded records on the table the same way we can format them in an interface. How does is solve the user problems? Having this feature will help us group fields together so the person or people responsible for entering data in those fields can easily open the record and find their relevant fields. How was this validated? It was validated using this feature on an interface. We don’t always want to build an interface just for this feature. Who is the target audience? All Airtable users

Personally, I like the default color options (despite the limited number) that are provided for the base/interface appearance color. That said, members on my team really wish we could match the exact color of our base with the primary company brand color. I feel like it wouldn't be too hard to have an 'advance' section under appearance that allowed us to input a HEX number.

I have built a list view and would like to move around the records based on how we rank them in a meeting. It would be great to move a record up/down without having the record nest within another record. Am I missing a feature on how to do this? A workaround would be to create a column for rank and sort them after they are ranked - not the easiest for mid-meeting workflow. See video here recorded with Vidyard.

What is the proposed idea/solution? A keyboard shortcut (on Mac) to move from table to table. (Never touch the mouse. Never leave the keyboard.) ... How does is solve the user problems? Moving one's hands away from the keyboard to touch the imprecise mouse is time-consuming. ... How was this validated? Experience. ... Who is the target audience? Anyone that see the value of using keyboard short cuts to say time by not having to move off the keyboard. ...

Imagine a panel above the tables that toggled a group of tables! This way, you could have big bases organized a lot better. I have some bases which have a different sections that are co-related.. it'd be nice to organize the "Enrollment" section as separate from the "Registration" section and as separate from the "Billing" Section without having to do complex base syncing. I like having everything from one business in one base but the table tabs fill up quick!

What is the proposed idea/solution? As a user I want to be able to quickly share images, often screenshots, in the comments on a specific record. How does is solve the user problems? The user today needs to visit an external website to see the image I provide in an image link. Who is the target audience? Everyone who is collaborating in airtable

What is the proposed idea/solution? for better accessibility - please label the colours with text - when hovering over in the base design How does is solve the user problems? 1 in 12 men and 1 in 200 women have some form of colour blindness - or colour visual deficiency. This means that distinguishing many of the colours in airtable is difficult. Giving bases different colours is great as this is both a visual cue when you use multiple bases and interfaces - and in communicating with the teams that use them - however when some users aren't clear which colour is which (I am one and i develop tools heavily in the platform) it causes needless friction - for what should be a quick fix How was this validated? please see standard accessibility guidelines for using colours and ensuring those with sight problems can see the tools effectively. Who is the target audience? all users and all users with colour blindness - e.g. disabled providing greater accessibility.
