View URL Filter Operator "Contains"

Hello Airtable Powers That Be! I am sure this has been suggested before, but it would be a HUGE upgrade if the Shared View URL filters had more operators. Right now, I would specifically like to request the “contains” operator. If we could use the URL filter to check for “contains”, then it could function with Linked Record and look up fields when multiple values are returned. Also, the URL could use a shorthand instead of the full string. I know you are working on amazing big features like Custom Blocks and Automations, but would love to see this functionality to improve collaboration and communication.

It would be great if we had the ability to use the record coloring feature to flag records that satisfy any number of criteria based on any number of existing table fields, and to allow multiple color “flags” per record. I would love to be able to see, at a glance, when a record satisfies multiple criteria, but not have to create a really complicated formula field to accomplish the same goal.

Would be nice to share specific views with specific collaborators. A bonus would also have the ability to lock those shared specific views.

I have lots of tables and views. I’d love to see maybe a drop down at the top of the base to select favorite views for ones I go to frequently.

Hello Friends! Proposal Add a filter option called “Records linked to records in View XXX from Table YYY”. Then you can build the rest of your filters on top of that. This would eliminate a TON of tedious updates that often lead to confusion when manual updates are not applied properly to all views. Supporting Details It would be really useful if I could filter a view in Table 1 based on the filters in another view in a linked Table (Table 2). I often find myself duplicating view filters. We have a Tasks table (Table 1) with a Projects table (Table 2). Oftentimes our understanding of what is a “current project” develops over time. Every time we change how we filter our views, I have to update views in both tables.

Problem Bases organically grow pretty wide over time. When it comes time to reign that growth in, I usually use the hidden fields tool to quickly look through my fields before further inspecting them. The search feature helps, but it’s limited to filtering by keywords, which means I only find fields that are well named. A Use Case A user needs to look through ton of redundant due date fields. To find them, the user needs to repeatedly scour hundreds of fields for anything of the ‘date’ field type before being able to inspect more carefully. Likewise, they’ll need to look for other field types (formulas, single line text) that can also serve up date related data. Solution(s) At minimum, it’d be useful to sort the hidden fields by ‘field type,’ but I’m sure there are other ideas worth exploring as well - such as alphabetical sorting, who and when the field was created (other great ones in the comments).

Just like how you can create a private view it would be great to be able to make whole dashboards private.

Looks like a gradual rollout, but there is a way to navigate between views. The keyboard shortcut is the same (Cltrl-SHift-K) but a new sidebar appears and doesn’t go away after the view has been switched. Moreover, the keyboard focus doesn’t shift to this box - so if you type a view name, you will end up typing in one of your records by mistake. This is BAD UX. There was nothing broken to fix. Product manager - this is NOT useful. Revert back to the old one, or give me a choice to stay with the old way.

When we add a linked record field to our base, we have the new option to “limit record selection to a view” in the other table. This is fantastic. HOWEVER — the gigantic problem with this is that whatever option we make for “limiting record selections” applies to our ENTIRE CURRENT TABLE. We can’t change this option on a view-by-view basis. This option applies to every single view in our current table. In other words, we have no ability in our current table to create 2 different views: View A uses a linked record field, but we only want to show a certain set of linked records to choose from. View B uses that exact same linked record field, but we want to show a DIFFERENT set of linked records to choose from. This dramatically limits the usefulness of this feature for us, because we have no ability to limit our linked record field to DIFFERENT RECORDS based on DIFFERENT VIEWS in our current table. In other words, this option is attached to the “field definition” itself, instead of allowing us to change this option on a view-by-view basis.
