I have an auto updating field “Last modified time” that watches another field, and updates when that field changes. However, I just changed that field type from “Single line of text” to “Long Text” + Rich Text Formatting, and now the auto-updating field shows that every field has now been updated. This somewhat ruins the integrity of the metadata on the actual field content. I am requesting an option on the Auto-Updating field types to “Ignore Field Type Changes” so that such changes to format/style but not the actual content, are not tracked as changes. The particular use case of Single Line Text → Multi-Line Text seems especially important, but I’m sure other use cases apply. Thanks!

Right now if I have a record with a lot of fields I can choose to view the data in one long horizontal row (in grid view) or one long vertical column (if I pop open the detail view). I have a lot of space in my big monitor; I want to be able to fit more fields on the screen at a time by putting them in a two-dimensional grid rather than a one-dimensional row or column. It would be great if I could make a page-designer view that allowed me to edit the data directly from within it like a form. Alternatively I’d like to be able to specify a two-or-three column layout on the detail view. Either of these options would allow me to take advantage of my screen real-estate to view and edit lots of record data a lot more easily.

It would be useful to be able to have aggregates (e.g. sum of a particular field, max date, etc) visible by stack in Kanban view. There is a count of records at the bottom, but if, for example, I’m using a Kanban view for my sales funnel, it would be great to have the sum of sales value by stage visible in Kanban.

Marcus_Speirs Oct '20 Hi folks, I know how to set up an automation, for example if a record is created it can/could create another/duplicate record for me in separate table, however this only seems to be tables within the SAME BASE… so, here’s my question: Is it possible for Airtable to create a duplicate record in a table in one base if a record is created in another base? thanks Can we reopen this topic? We can only sync 3 tables into 1, which is way to many for my use cases. Being able to “create a record” via automations between bases instead of tables would be very useful.

We have so many bases that it would be so super helpful if we were able to customize the color of each a little further with a specific HEX code. Each of our bases represents a client of ours, and it would be awesome if we could use the colors associated with them instead of one of the 20 that isn’t relevant. If we were able to upload a logo instead of using one of the icons available that would be awesome as well. Anyone else???

Safari will adapt to the color of different websites with macOS 12 this fall. I’d love it if Airtable would change their code so the safari toolbar is the same as the header color. I’m sure many will appreciate that when the new version comes out!

Sections can be very helpful to organize views within a table, and now that I have them, I can’t not wish that I had them for the tables themselves too. Scrolling back and forth is no bueno. The search toolbar is helpful, but it would be nice to add some further organization as well.

It would be great if there was the option to select multiple elements in Page designer so you could move and format them all together, using a marquee tool or CTRL and click.

This would be a very useful trigger in automations: “New field created”. I have several users with the permission to create fields in different tables. I need to keep track of this, so it’d be useful to have a notification whenever a new field is created in a given table (or base).

It would be helpful for repetitive data entry via a form if the new blank form “remembered” certain values from the last submitted values. Imagine taking inventory items in various rooms or containers. Instead of having to select that room or container every time you start a new form entry, it would save the user a lot of time if the previous room or container ID were persistent until changed. I envision a flag that can be set for each field when creating the form that indicates which fields will be remembered. Does this capability exist already?
