Not all the functionalities of charts starting from a blank Interface page are available for charts on dashboard pages. One feature I have been missing is the "group by" option under y-axis for a Bar Chart that allows for categorization of the plotted data. It would be great if this could be added to charts on Interfaces! I have been impressed by some of the power and features enabled in "dashboard" interfaces (pivot tables, easily clicking on a chart to view underlying records, etc.) but then frustrated when some of the previous functionality from charts on a blank interface page isn't available (adding group by in plotting, editing underlying records, etc.).

In automations I use scripts to make external api calls. These api calls may occasionally fail due to rate limiting / network issues etc.. I would love the option to automatically retry an automation step if it fails, preferably configurable like retry max 3 times with exponential backoff

Currently the automation actions are quite limited, in most of my automations I have to resort to scripts. This poses some challenges: - often I have to use apikeys in the script to integrate with other services, these apikeys are now exposed to every user - If I want to re-use a script, it's now located in multiple automations and changing it / version control becomes cumbersome I would love to have the option as an owner to create custom script templates that the users (in my workspace) can use. See it as my custom automation action based on an automation script. This way I can hide the apikeys and easily re-use scripts across automations.

Hello Airtable & Airtable Community, I'd like to see if there's support for a kind of Global Element top navigation bar for Interfaces that I can use across multiple bases of my workspace. For example, I have different bases for: Quoting Planning Ordering Production HR and I'd like a user to be able to navigate between them without going to the Home screen. I know some users have implemented buttons at the top of the page, but it would seem to me that you'd have to do that on every Interface page (manually create each set of 5 buttons, manually input the URLs). Certainly possible, but a bit painful to implement. I have 2-3 Interfaces each with 5-10 Interface Pages, per base. It would be great to be able to define which "buttons" show for which users based on their permissions. Thanks for any tips or info on whether this is in the pipeline.

For my admin interfaces, I never need a field in an interface to be _not_ editable. Only a few people use these admin interfaces and everyone needs to access everything (it's a CRM). Having to set every single field on every single table and view and every place you ever see a field value. It's really awful. A preference setting or something that makes the whole interface editable wherever possible would be great.

What is the proposed idea/solution? Feature: A button to run custom logic and navigate the user in the Interface. Example: A button attached to a record view that when clicked does the following: Updates a field on the current record (e.g., update the "work request" (table) status field from "under review" to "approved") Create a new record in a related table (e.g., work orders), populated with any necessary data from the source record in step 1. Navigate the user to the newly generated record, or a different page on the Interface. How does is solve the user problems? This feature would allow for more complex UI/UX workflows and make Airtable a more powerful app-building tool with the Interface feature. Buttons or other UI components that could have logic attached could run logic to mutate data in tables before navigating and updating the UI. Given that buttons can navigate users around the Interface, it seems like a useful feature would be to have some "middleware" logic run when there are button induced navigations. I wonder if this could be done by adding a "Navigate to Interface Page" action to automations or adding a "Run Script then Navigate" to the button actions options. How was this validated? I am building a "computerized maintenance and management system (CMMS)" for my organization and wanted to develop a nice intuitive UI/UX for my staff, especially those that are not tech savvy. I also confirmed that it is not currently possible to replicate this UX with the current options in the Interface builder and Automations. Who is the target audience? Airtable power users and app developers who are trying to leverage Airtable as a low-code app building platform. I am waffling between Airtable's Interface and using something like Glide, which offers navigation actions in their UI builder. ...

What is the proposed idea/solution? Disabling an action would skip that action during the automation run. How does is solve the user problems? This would allow me to build out actions, as they are supposed to be, but turn them off so I am only using the actions when I am ready for them. How was this validated? I am currently building out a brand new system where multiple people get notified at different stages of the process. I need to build out the notification actions but I don't want those actions to run, to avoid annoying active users with system testing. Who is the target audience? Anybody that uses automations in Airtable.

What is the proposed idea/solution? In workspace settings, provide an option to choose a default DATETIME_FORMAT format specifier (such as ISO 8601). After choosing this, all future tables/bases date fields will default to this specifier. How does is solve the user problems? This saves the time it takes to manually update date fields to comply with a preferred format. Furthermore, it helps enforce consistency from employee to employee. How was this validated? User survey and study,. Who is the target audience? All Airtable users.

What is the proposed idea/solution? Add the ability to share the Matrix App Extension output How does is solve the user problems? We've used the Matrix Apps ability to arrange records on a 2D grid to create a value versus effort grid and the output is perfect for our requirements. However, there is currently no way to share the output other than via screen capture. The proposed solution would allow us to share the live grid with our user base so that they can see our approach to prioritisation. How was this validated? user request Who is the target audience? Product Owners
