I love Airtable! I have a feature request. I created a form for my family to add gift/wish items for Christmas and Birthdays. I created a view for each member so they can’t see their gifts requested so they will not know if someone purchased a gift for them, you know keep it a surprise. My request is to allow people who receive private links of table views a location in the iOS app so they can quickly find their shared links. This particular gift base has three private link views for each person in my family. A view of all the gifts requested - minus their gift requests. A form view to make gift requests. A form view to record a gift purchase (still working on this one - I need to figure out how to filter only the gifts not purchased) It would be nice if this view of links was set up like the bases. It would be great if the field name displayed at the top and/or the bottom of the screen so I could see what is supposed to be in them as I cursor across a table. I see the tool tip when I mouse over the name, but if i’m just tabbing through, it’s hard to know what’s there. A related idea: I’d love to see an Excel/Sheets style input box in the title bar to make it easier to edit cells where the contents are not entirely displayed. ... View more

There are many feature requests for the Galley View and I hate to pile on, but my request might help some of the others. I wish we could “turn over” Gallery and Kanban cards to reveal other fields. This would be a useful UI improvement to: enable the creation of flash cards (Flash card view) potentially provide data visualizations, enabling Gallery views to serve as simple dashboards (Ability to create graphs, charts, maps from data in Airtable database) create more visually appealing staff directories or contact lists I’d like this feature because I’m creating dashboards in Wordpress by embedding single-card gallery views. It would be awesome to have a single field in really large type (or image) that fills up most of the card-face real estate. As an example, if I am tracking unpaid invoices, I might use the days outstanding metric which would show “47” in large type. If I am tracking my weekly running distance, it might show % of goal in large type. If you remember the wonderful but short-lived Numerous app (here’s a screen shot), you would see what I mean. Wonderful utility… My own use case might be idiosyncratic, but the underlying concept of a two-sided card is powerful (and one might ask, why stop at two sides – why not go even more multi-dimensional?) I’ve been experimenting with the new Page Designer Beta feature, and it is very close to meeting my reporting needs. What I need now is a way to sort the records by a field in the related record. My use case: I run a collegiate outing program. I’m writing a base for our logistical planning. The tables at play are “Trips” (with trip-specific information like leaders, participants, difficulty, etc) and “Days” (with day-specific information like campsite, route, mileage, etc). I need a print-out to give my leaders that includes trip-related information and also summarizes info from the Days table - but I want the days sorted by date. In Filemaker, it would be easy to update the “Sort Portal by…” option to the relevant field. But, so far, I haven’t figured out how to do that in Airtable. Does someone have a way to do this that I am not thinking of? Or is this a feature under development? ... View more

I often tweak a certain view just so, arranging columns just right and getting superfluous cruft out of the way and wish there was an easy way to apply that arrangement to other views, but there isn’t. I expected the option in ‘Copy another View’s Configuration’ but didn’t find it. Actually, the options that are offered to copy, I don’t think I have ever had a need for, but arranging and hiding I have wanted often, so I’d like to see those options added if possible! ...
