Hi All, Airtable definitely needs a way to change the record picker when using linked records from a synced table(or any table for that matter) or even allow a better search mechanism when picking those records. Right now you can search your linked records but not using any criteria of the lookup fields associated with them. Example would be that I have an Employee’s Full Names associated with an Employee ID #. When using the record picker, I can only search by the employee’s ID Number, No criteria matching that employee (First Name , Last Name). I have 250 IDs on file and have to add 20-50 records at a time with data. I cant memorize every employee ID. See Below trying to search with criteria shown in the record picker window I also just learned that if you use a synced table and change the view on that synced table it also changes all the data on ALL other tables that was attached to it. Example: I have employees directory that keeps track of Employee information specifically if they are active or inactive. I have that table synced to another base that keeps track of all employee time on jobs. I have around 8000 records and over 3 years of data. When I changed to synced table view to only show active employees, all of my inactive employees employee data from another table was lost. The record existed but the employee data had vanished. Around 3000 records were gone by filtering a shared tables data.

Related to this (# Changing Displayed Field in Calendar View and/or Display Value of Field ) topic, how about creating a View detection function that can be used in the Fomula function? I thought it would be nice to have this function so that the title could be changed depending on the view.

I would love to be able to better navigate around my airtables. Simply adding these shortcuts would help greatly, the same as Excel does: Ctl-right, left, up and down would ideally move the cursor to the next record in the respective direction. At the moment these commands just move you to the edges of the table instead of the next record. If people disagree, I’d love to hear from you and how you navigate between records? Thanks!

When setting up filters based on a “Created Time” field, I would love if there were more options, such as: month / year created within [insert time frame between two dates] within [past week, past month, past year, etc] For example, I added a ton of records to my Airtable on 6/21/21 and then again on 6/24/21. I only want to view those records, so it would be great to be able to filter for “Created Time” → month created = June or “Created Time” → date is between = 6/21/21 - 6/24/21

I find the box a bit small for the information I need to store in Description of the field. It would be helpful if the dark grey box can be resized and even permanently resized to accommodate more text. Right now the window is quite narrow and long so that adding more text would cut the text at the bottom. See pic. PS: I know there are apps available for Airtable to add more description and wiki, but they are outside of Airtable.

Hi, I have a linked field that links records from the same table but from a different view (I have filter applied on that view based on some conditions) When I link a field (from Table A) to a record from another table (Table B), In Table B, I get a new column that shows what records are being linked to in Table A But in my case, when I link to a view in the same table, I am not able to see what records are linked to a record in the view. What I am trying to achieve basically is if a record from the view is linked, it cannot be linked to another record. I want to hide that record from the linking view. Please suggest if this can be done or if there is a hack for this. thanks in advance

Hi there, In kanban view I would like to be able to click checkboxes to move the card to the next stage (automation). I have selected the checkbox field from the “customize cards” drop-down but only ticked checkboxes are visiable. Could you please update this so that empty checkboxes are visible when selected from customize cards. Thanks in advance Isaac

Right now if I have a record with a lot of fields I can choose to view the data in one long horizontal row (in grid view) or one long vertical column (if I pop open the detail view). I have a lot of space in my big monitor; I want to be able to fit more fields on the screen at a time by putting them in a two-dimensional grid rather than a one-dimensional row or column. It would be great if I could make a page-designer view that allowed me to edit the data directly from within it like a form. Alternatively I’d like to be able to specify a two-or-three column layout on the detail view. Either of these options would allow me to take advantage of my screen real-estate to view and edit lots of record data a lot more easily.

Marcus_Speirs Oct '20 Hi folks, I know how to set up an automation, for example if a record is created it can/could create another/duplicate record for me in separate table, however this only seems to be tables within the SAME BASE… so, here’s my question: Is it possible for Airtable to create a duplicate record in a table in one base if a record is created in another base? thanks Can we reopen this topic? We can only sync 3 tables into 1, which is way to many for my use cases. Being able to “create a record” via automations between bases instead of tables would be very useful.
