It is great that we are able to restrict the selection of a Linked Field based on view. What I really need is to be able to restrict the selection based on a kind of dynamic view. Here’s an example. I have Clients, Tasks and Expenses table. In the expenses table, I select a linked Client. I then select a linked Task. When I click to select the task, I am shown all tasks for all clients. I’d like to restrict the view so that I only see tasks related to the selected client. Is this possible? I think it would probably require having parameters in views and then the ability to set that parameter based on the value of a field or formula. ... View more

Hi there, You pivot tables are not all that helpful since you can only summarize one column. I’m creating a daily habit tracker (so each column is a habit with a checkbox and the rows are the dates) and I love that it can show me the percentage checked at the bottom summary but I would like to create a pivot table to show what percentages are checked for each column each month and right now that isn’t possible. Or if you could make formulas reference across tabs instead of only being able to use columns in that tab for the formula that could accomplish it too… (and if “percent checked” was part of the formula). I found a very complicated workaround for a similar table (a “life score tracker” where I rate my day by things like productivity, mood, and health) where the column is just “type” and you select which thing you’re rating - but I was only able to make that one tolerable because I could have Zapier autopopulate a bunch of empty rows of the different categories each day and I’d prefer not to have to do that for this one, particularly since I’m 17 days into using it and because I have a limited Zapier plan (and I’m paying for Premium here so I should be able to show a pivot table where one of the options is just “all the columns except the column used except the date column” or something). @Katherine_Duh Every once in a while you see questions in the community related to Excel-like solutions. Referring to values in another record is one of them. Only recently it dawned on me that Airtable uses this type of calculations already all the time: in the summary area. SUM, MIN, MAX, RANGE, AVERAGE and more. It probably is a (way too) simple thought, but still I think I need to express it: if Airtable already programmed functions like that in a summary setting, why not use it in formula’s and allow users to calculate between records? I understand that the Kanban view isn’t yet available on mobile, yet the web view is perfectly functional except from one thing — it does not support touch drag. This is a very important thing for touch enabled laptops (where the keyboard can be easily tucked away) or tablets. There’s a reason airtable put it in when describing it since its way easier to see the tree diagram than to read the ifs inside of ifs as a single line without getting lost. The advanced version of this would be to not just show the diagram but to create the diagram and have the if statements one-liner code written out automatically so its visual programming. hi! When retrieving linked field in the API, described as “array of record IDs (strings)”, you get only the ID of the record. Which is particularly useless as the api would ask you to make a completely new request to retrieve the data! Imagine we have a linked table called People with a Name field Wouldnt it be useful if we could do smtg like “People.value(Name)” to retrieve the content of this array? I’ve been looking at Airtable for about a month now and I’m trying to convince my company to switch from Google to Airtable. One issue is that we create an assignment sheet every day some of which are of specific priority levels. Our problem is that we can only create 40 rule sets for coloring cells. First off, I don’t understand why there is a limit at all. Something I’d like to see even MORE is the ability to color cells without creating a rule for it and ideally the color would fill one single cell and not only be visible next to the row number.
