i would like to be able to resize columns in a batch. this would be more broad than just auto-sizing (Auto column resizing by double clicking border b/w column headers) select-all and resize one column = all columns resize to match double-click column = resize to fit content (or title) select-all and set width = all columns resize to specified size etc.

This thread really highlighted the need for Airtable to automatically create “back links” (or “reverse links”) when you are creating a self-linking linked record field (i.e. a field relationship that links a table back to itself). All other linked record fields in Airtable automatically create these “back links” or “reverse links”, but they don’t get created when doing a self-relationship within a single table. This is especially crucial for using the Org chart block, which REQUIRES that you create a self-linking relationship within a table. The Org chart block doesn’t even support creating links between separate tables! You’ll notice in the Org chart demonstration video that there are 2 self-linked fields: “Direct Reports” and “Direct Supervisors”. All of that data had to be manually inputted & manually verified by the user, because there is no automatic way to have those 2 fields automatically communicate with each other. If you’re dealing with a very small number of records, it might be relatively easy & relatively trivial to manually input both sides of the links for every record. But once you start dealing with hundreds or thousands of records, it becomes a real chore to start manually managing all of these links. Same problem if you’re trying to BREAK a self-relationship between 2 people. If you delete the relationship on one side, the relationship on the other side should AUTOMATICALLY break. But the way it is now, you actually have to remember to manually break both sides of the relationship. Unfortunately, we only have 2 options for creating backlinks in Airtable: (1) Write a custom JavaScript to handle this for us. Two scripts that do this are available here and here. or (2) For a no-code way of doing this that doesn’t require writing any programming code at all, we can use Make’s advanced Airtable automations, which is a no-code automation tool for Airtable. But all of this should be natively built into Airtable. I was a FileMaker developer for over 30 years before becoming an Airtable consultant, and FileMaker is an advanced database app that natively solves this problem because backlinks are automatically built into the product. FileMaker solves all the other Airtable limitations as well, because FileMaker is a full-blown programming language with no limits. If anybody needs a referral to a FileMaker developer, feel free to reach out to me through my website: https://www.scottworld.com/ Hope this helps! It would be great if rich text formatting was available in the forms help text. I would be easier to emphasis important points about completing the form properly.

What is the proposed idea/solution? Would be nice to have the ability to include images directly to the interface, let's say I'm building a client portal, and I want some kind of design on it, perhaps a large banner to say hello to my client portal interface, or perhaps to separate a section with a small image that says Files or archives, to have buttons that guide to documents attached or linked to that certain user... How does is solve the user problems? Allowing more personalisation within the interface panel, right now is a tad limited from the design perspective, I',m wishing to use it on a daily basis with my clients :)!... How was this validated? ... Who is the target audience? people that want to make the interface for their clients better looking 🙂

I am glad each table in a base has one key column that must be unique (needed for relational databases), but instead of making this uniqueness requirement only available to the key column, please make this setting available to other fields also.
Some discussion on this topic has already been made (see Unique values in a column), but was listed under “Support” instead of “feature request”.

Appreciate the ability to bold, italicize, and strike through text in long text fields, and to format as headings, numbered or bulleted lists, etc. It would be very helpful to be able to highlight text as well, or at least change the color of the text. Change in text color, at least, must be possible as hyperlinked text appears in light blue. Our particular use case is a shared legal research database, where our long text field is the notes each lawyer takes on each case. It would be very useful to other researchers to see highlighted passages. We currently use bold text, but it doesn't really stand out in a helpful way. Thank you.

What is the proposed idea/solution? There is not currently an option to add a generic search bar to a custom interface page. The only option is to have different filter options How does is solve the user problems? It would give users the abilty to search multiple different fields without having to make sure they are typing matching text in the correct filter option How was this validated? User experience. The photo attatched shows the custom view that is being used, the reason I do not change it to the prefigured Kanaban view is because there is another view below it that I like having on the same page as the Kanaban view. Who is the target audience? Airtable users

There greatly needs to be a filter in an interfaces Revision History. It should show as a pill next to the word Revision History, just like the filter pill shows on the new Record List interface. Or it could be next to the bell icon for changing the watching comments option. This way if you are viewing revision history you can narrow in on a specific field(s) to see only those revisions.

When adding linked records to a column you can only select one at a time. This means you have to click “Link to a record” and re-enter the search term each time. Would love to be able to hold down “Ctrl” or “Cmd” and select multiple linked records at once. It would be a big time saver.

I would love to have a feature that would search a given table by a field or set of fields to find and surface duplicate rows. It would then be great to be able to take a pre-defined action on duplicated rows such as delete, or merge. Dealing with dupes is always a pain with large data sets or importing new data into a set where some records may already exist. A way to deal with dupes in a somewhat automated way would be really helpful.
