I am a convert to Airtable and am constantly experimenting with it but… To move this really rather great product forward there has to be a backup/export facility. I really am amazed reading this forum how people seem willing to put sensitive information or build business critical systems round it without backup, you can guarantee they will be the first to complain when it inevitably suffers downtime, and yes I know you can export tables as .csv files but its hardly the same or robust. Make it a paid option if need be, in fact make the whole product a paid service, I for one would be happy to pay for a host of new features, the value to my business would more than balance a reasonable monthly cost, but like every feature request forum I see it is filled with niche and peripheral requests which without backup or a regular income stream for the developers are just not practical or reasonable to request or expect. Just looking at the feature requests today i see gant charts, graphing, captchas on forms, report builders, etc etc. in a free product… Really!! So my wish list would I guess be Airtable premium, a robust app, which would businesses could adopt while perhaps keeping a paired down Airtable basic for others or as a try before buy, otherwise I would worry airtable would not be sustainable as a business model, and this good product will disappear… I will now sit back and await flames. ... I am building a Table to apply Markup to products. I need to be able to apply a different amount of markup to different quantities. The best way to do this would be able to select from a single select column but it seems the function column does not recognize the number as a number for the calculation. Adding a new appointment record in the linked appointments table, from within the learners table, the record gets created but when clicking on it to edit the details, it says “Loading…” but it doesn’t load. Going to that record in the appointments table and opening it is fine, and the link is there to the originating learners table. This works fine in iOS, but not in Android ... View more

It would be IMMENSELY helpful if the filtering acted more like it does in excel, where I can see the possible values of a given field and select one or multiple values, just like you can in Airtable when the field type is a single or multiple option select. It’s very cumbersome to have to hand-type a ‘contains’ free text field, and it’s not possible to select more than one value in a filter if it’s not an option type field. ... View more

Evernote used to have a product called evernote peek, where each note would be turned into a flash card that one could study (title is one side, note content on the other side). It would be great if Airtable had a similar feature. I keep a lot of bases that contain study/vocab material for languages, so this would be very useful for that. This occurred to me when I was playing with the new Gallery views - which I love by the way. If you are building a number of view of a table to cover different subjects (an HR example may be views on Employees to view their Personal Information on one view, their Job related information on another and leave information on a third), then it would be very useful to be able to define which fields are available on the associated Expanded view (and this is not just the fields in the view calling up expanded view). I would add that it’s not only the input fields that you should be able to choose but also the ‘incoming’ or child linked records as well. I wouldn’t want to see linked absences, for example, on an Expanded view associated with an employee’s personal information. ... View more
