Would there be anyway you’d consider adding hierarchical single select columns that show different options depending on what is selected in a prior column?
For example in one column imagine that you have a list of car manufacturers labelled ‘Make’
Some options in here could be:
Audi
BMW
Ford
Volkswagen
Then you could have a second single select column called ‘Model’.
It would be great if this only showed options related to the first column.
So for example if Audi is selected in the first column the options could be:
A1
A3
A4
Q3
Q7
Whereas if Volkswagen was selected in the first column the options could be:
Beetle
Golf
Jetta
Polo
Scirocco

Displaying the field name is useless for so many Gallery views created (and some Kanban views). For example, I don’t need to know that xyz@abc is their “email” or 123.456.7890 is there “phone”. The field names take up far too much space when viewing.

It would be great to make automation error messages more sophisticated. For instance it would be very helpful to build an error log in a table in order to assign errors to certain users or mark them as resolved etc. (at the moment the person who triggered the automation receives the error notification / email). Especially when dealing with more complex bases and / or using scripts in automations, errors are pretty common and a useful part of the development process. At the moment unfortunately not useful enough 🙂

Right now, to format values pulled from a Currency field in a Formula field, users have to use something akin to the following formula to get “$65,756” to display as such. Otherwise, AirTable displays it as “65756”, no commas, no currency symbol: IF(
LEN(CONCATENATE({Trip Budget}))<4,
{Trip Budget},
IF(
AND(LEN(CONCATENATE({Trip Budget}))>3,LEN(CONCATENATE({Trip Budget}))<7),
LEFT(CONCATENATE({Trip Budget}),LEN(CONCATENATE({Trip Budget}))-3)&","&RIGHT(CONCATENATE({Trip Budget}),3),
IF(
AND(LEN(CONCATENATE({Trip Budget}))>6,LEN(CONCATENATE({Trip Budget}))<10),
LEFT(CONCATENATE({Trip Budget}),LEN(CONCATENATE({Trip Budget}))-6)&","&LEFT(RIGHT(CONCATENATE({Trip Budget}),6),3)&","&RIGHT(CONCATENATE({Trip Budget}),3),
IF(
AND(LEN(CONCATENATE({Trip Budget}))>9,LEN(CONCATENATE({Trip Budget}))<13),
LEFT(CONCATENATE({Trip Budget}),LEN(CONCATENATE({Trip Budget}))-9)&","&LEFT(RIGHT(CONCATENATE({Trip Budget}),9),3)&","&LEFT(RIGHT(CONCATENATE({Trip Budget}),6),3)&","&RIGHT(CONCATENATE({Trip Budget}),3),
)
)
)
) This is obviously inconvenient, and it doesn’t even take into account decimals or amounts greater than $999,999,999. I propose a new formula function that operates something like this: CURRENCY([number or field reference], [currency symbol]) => CURRENCY(12345.6,"$") = $12,345.60

I've been using Airtable as an invoice tracker, creator, and sender so that I can use the payment processor that I want to use. I'm wanting page designer to have a download button that I can just click once and have my documents download as a pdf immediately instead of using the "save to pdf" work around. It would also be great if you can customize the file name using fields to help with organization. This would be good for weekly, monthly, and yearly financial and performance reports in various scenarios. Also, it would be epic if the page designer could be automated to download directly into an attachment field, or emailed as an attachment. Then, as a bonus, we should be able to do a batch download of attachments/files into a zip folder. This should be easy for Airtable's development team to implement since so many platforms have this functionality. This isn't new technology that I am asking for.

Proposed idea We originally used the Form view to create forms that would _prefill fields and auto-redirect to the record that was created. This feature is currently not possible with the Form interface type. This would greatly improve user experience with the additional Form interface option. Solution Introduce the prefill (default value) to the interface Form and include the option (slider) to allow the form to either redirect or stay put until user closes.

Proposed idea/solution Right now the interface button setting "Go to interface page" is restricted to pages within the same interface group of pages. Propose to extend the setting to other pages within any interface on the same base. Solution Currently one has to use either the "Go to external URL" or "Go to URL in record" to make possible the linking of pages on different interfaces on the same base. This works, however, if you duplicate the base (from a template base) you have to reset all the links. Target audience Anyone who uses a base as a template to clone/duplicate into another base.

This would be a very useful feature to prevent people from accidentally entering dates that have already passed, or to restrict to a certain period of time (e.g. no more than two weeks ahead). Additionally if you have a form with several date fields, you could have conditional restrictions on what date could be entered based on a previous date entered (e.g. a finish date would always have to be after a start date).

What is the proposed idea/solution? In the rollup field settings, we will be able to pull another field as value, rather the rolled up field. How does is solve the user problems? Let's say you have Tasks and Projects tables which are linked. I want to see in the project table, the Assignee field from the last created task. Today, I can rollup the last task (with MAX(values)), but can't pull any field beside the date field. How was this validated? ... Who is the target audience? Everyone who uses linked records.

The product could be a plugin or widget that allows users to create dynamic dropdown menus for single select questions in forms. Instead of a static list of options, the menu would display different options based on the user's previous selections or inputs. For example, let's say you were filling out a form to order a custom pizza. The first question might ask you to select a crust type (thin, thick, gluten-free, etc.). Once you select a crust type, the dropdown menu for the next question (e.g. sauce options) would dynamically update to display only the sauces that are available for the selected crust type. The same logic could be applied to a variety of form types, such as surveys, job applications, or product order forms. The product could be customizable to allow users to set up their own rules for dynamic option selection based on their specific form needs. Overall, this product could improve the user experience by making forms more interactive and efficient, while also reducing the likelihood of user error by only displaying relevant options.
