What is the proposed idea/solution? Identify which area the columns belong to through colors. How does is solve the user problems? It allows identifying groups of columns belonging to different teams, departments or stages of a process. How was this validated? By right clicking on a column, in the edition, there will be a colored icon. There, you could choose the color of the column (using the same shape and colors used in Single Select. When selecting the color, it will display a subtle, minimalist and thin line of color above the column name. (See capture)           Who is the target audience? We are currently consolidating our style guide in Airtable. It would be of great help if a new HEX field and a new COLOR field were introduced to use as a design color for fields, text, shapes or backgrounds in interfaces. The new COLOR field would then display the color of a selected HEX field, both in tables as in interfaces. Along that same line it would be great if Admins could define global HEX colors for the entire workspace, so these colors can be used to brand the user experience for everyone. What is the proposed idea/solution? Enable date formatting on formula columns How does is solve the user problems? My use case for this would be to insert templates or build template tables for project management on events we do over and over again. For example, if we plan a webinar, we know which tasks need to get done in what order and how many days apart. We have a formula for how many days before or after the live webinar date each task needs to be done. If I include a column for the live date and include the variance to live date, I should be able to auto calculate the due date for each task but there isn't a format that allows for this. ... Asking users to structure their base in a way that is conducive to Airtable's best practices falls short (requires workarounds like automations) when they would like a single form to contain EVERYTHING they need to capture during the intake process. Allowing users to ask the questions they need and manage their data properly without hacky solutions leads to a better user experience and understanding of how to get the most out of Airtable. What is the proposed idea/solution? Improve the form view to support creating new linked records and accessing linked record fields as questions on the form. Displaying these fields would depend on whether an existing or new linked record is desired by the submitter. How does is solve the user problems?
