What is the proposed idea/solution? The best yet most annoying feature - is being able to create record straight from a linked column Despite being a feature that sometimes are valuable this feature has created more trouble than anything else. To save tab space we often bunch different items under the same tab. We often use a combination of a locked filter that forces a category into a single select column and thereby split out what should be selectable in different linked columns around the base. This works really well until someone one day realises that they can just add new entries directly from a linked column, but not understanding that they need to issue the right category to the new entry on order to make everything calculate right. This is especially difficult to explain to new people that join our organisation and who has no prior understanding of Airtable and does not understand the underlying structure of how our bases are build. What would be really awesome is the ability to switch off this feature as sometimes it's obviously also a great quick way to add records, but our experience as soon as bases become a little more complicated this feature makes so much trouble. ... How does is solve the user problems? It will enable our users not to make unintended duplicates and records that does not show up in the right linked columns ... How was this validated? Through 22 users and three years of experience ... Who is the target audience? New people you get onboards onto workspaces ...

What is the proposed idea/solution? As it's possible to pre-fill a View Form field - it would be useful if field permissions could be set to prevent the user from editing specified (pre-filled) fields - the idea being that the field is read-only and is simply relaying information to the user who's filling out the form. Currently, if the field permissions within the table are set to "Nobody" can edit - a user viewing and filling out a form can still edit that field. How does this solve the user problems? It allows pre-filled forms to be sent and filled out by users, but only desirable fields are editable, whilst others fields are restricted from editing and will display pre-filled data that can't be edited - but can be viewed during the form process. Who is the target audience? Anyone who is using an Airtable automation to send a Form Link, with pre-filled URL switches, where some fields should really be non-editable and view only.

What is the proposed idea/solution? When looking at a calendar in Week, 3 Day, or Day view, it would be great to change the hour scale — that is, make an hour larger in the view. How does is solve the user problems? When scheduling lots of records in a very small timescale (<15 minutes) things can get very cluttered, and it feels like we're not using the screen real estate to its fullest extent. Being able to zoom in on the Y-axis would fix this problem. If anyone has a solution for how to view records on a smaller time scale (right now I bounce between a table and a calendar), that would be greatly appreciated.

What is the proposed idea/solution? It would be great to have more design options for fields in interfaces. Some examples: Center text within a text box Center elements across the whole page Change the thickness and color of dividers Add a spacer option (this would be solved by the above by just doing a white line and increasing thickness) Center the number and text within a number element The first 2 above have been giving me the most headaches. Having to add blank text boxes of varying length and adding spaces inside text boxes just to center the text or other elements on the page seems excessive. I feel there could just be a center button in both menus (the one with text-specific options and the one that allows you to change the color for multiple elements/extend them all the way across the page). How does is solve the user problems? Allows users to create more professional-looking interfaces in less time How was this validated? ... Who is the target audience? ...

What is the proposed idea/solution? Add a sorting option to the Group function associated the Record List interface (for example.) This option would be available when grouping by a Single Select List and would allow you to order the groups the same as they are ordered in the list. How does is solve the user problems? Currently you can sort Groups alphabetically or reverse alphabetically. This prevents Groups from being a useful way to organize sequential groupings of data, or results in the user including the sequence in the name of the group (e.g. "1. Shutting down warp core"; "2. Disconnecting primary coupler", etc), which is not ideal to manage and may be confusing if the field is used elsewhere in the interface. record_list.jpg shows the interface's record list with the groups collapsed so that you can see the order (alphabetical) single_select_list_order.jpg shows the order of the list and the order I would like the groups to appear group_sort_options.jpg is where one might expect to see another sort option. Tight fit! Thanks for your consideration.

What is the proposed idea/solution? Delete records using Automation. I want to move data from Table A > Table B. Currently there's no way without scripting to be able to do such a simple operation. Given that you can right click to delete a record, I'm shocked that this basic functionality is missing. How does is solve the user problems? Avoids major workarounds for what I would consider in a data management tool, to be core functionality. How was this validated? ... Who is the target audience? Everyone

What is the proposed idea/solution? I'm trying to use an interface to present financial information; however, numbers are left aligned in list view and there is no option for totals. Even columns that are right aligned in Grid view are left aligned in List view. Can this be corrected so that it allows the option to right align? How does is solve the user problems? It will allow us to use list view for financial information in a way that is more intuitive to users. How was this validated? ... Who is the target audience? Everyone and anyone that looks at financial information in a list view or interface.

I need a way to schedule interfaces to be sent periodically as an email. Our automations are being used up for sending weekly reports. This is removing the ability to replace manual business practices with efficient automations. Ideally, I'd like a feature to send email reports out from interfaces periodically to specific users and/or user groups.

What is the proposed idea/solution? Similar to Record Details pages, I would like the ability to include additional fields in the dropdown when selecting linked records in interface forms. How does it solve the user problems? I use unique ID's in the primary field, which makes it difficult to identify the appropriate record when selecting from the dropdown in interface forms. The ability to include other fields in the dropdown would allow me to select appropriate records without having another window open to map the ID's to my selection. This has already been implemented in Record Details pages, so I'm hoping it can be added without much issue (pictures attached). It would also save me from having to restructure my database. How was this validated? Everyday use Who is the target audience? Anyone using interface forms

What is the proposed idea/solution? When viewing an individual day in the Calendar view, it would be helpful to apply a sort so that the records are aligned in their own "columns" within the Calendar view. For example, if we sort by "Executive," it would be helpful to have all records with "Executive A" aligned to the left of the daily Calendar view, then "Executive B" aligned to the right of that, then "Executive C" aligned to the right of that, and so on. See the attached image for how Airtable currently sorts the calendar--each executive is color-coded but the records are scattered across the calendar rather than aligned neatly into individual columns. How does is solve the user problems? It is difficult to track records linked to specific fields in a calendar view, especially if there are multiple events happening on the same day that occur at the same time. Allowing users to sort into columns based on specific fields (in this example, a single select field for "Executive") would streamline the workflow for event managers and provide quick visual reference in a fast-paced real-time environment. How was this validated? This was validated for a major global event with a Fortune 100 company. Who is the target audience? Marketing teams, sales teams, or anyone responsible for managing large-scale events.
