For readability it would be nice to be able to present numbers (especially large ones) with separators such as commas. Custom defined number formats would be even better (regex).

Seems that almost all of my fields in almost all of my tables have more text in the column titles then they do in the records.

First, let me start off by saying how incredibly important this feature is. The data so many organizations could have by being able to create custom calculated metrics in Interfaces is untellable. When creating big numbers (like the Numbers widget in an Interface), you are tired to a specific field, then you must select an operator. For example, you tie that Number widget to a field in one of your tables, for example, “Revenue,” then select “Sum” and it gives you the total. Let’s say you did that same thing for “Profit.” Then, with those two metrics, there is no way to create a third one based off those that calculates, for example, something like: Profit / Revenue (displayed as a percentage (Margin)). The problem is that the only workaround to achieve the above (something that is a basic feature in, for example, Google Data Studio), is to build in the Profit, Revenue, and Margin fields at the table level which can fail to work if you are dealing with a metric for which there is no workable operator. For example, you cannot use “Sum” in the settings of a Number widget in an Interface in order to sum up all the “Margin” values in your table. That doesn’t make sense. Long story short, I would love if, in Interfaces, you could calculate your own metrics. The flexibility this would provide would help people who are using Interfaces for basic financial or other number-based widgets, and could give them the insights they need (like the organization I work for!).

Google Sheets has a formula called Hyperlink.
HYPERLINK(url, [link_label])
Example
HYPERLINK(“http://www.google.com/”, “Google”)
Where url is The full URL of the link location enclosed in quotation marks, or a reference to a cell containing such a URL.
and link_label - [optional] is the text to display in the cell as the link, enclosed in quotation marks, or a reference to a cell containing such a label.
It would be helpful if airtable could do this too.
My use case: Zapier finds new google docs in a special folder and adds records to an airtable which includes TITLE and URL. I have a view of that table that is embedded on my internal google site so that all new content in that folder (medical protocols) are available to my staff. It would be quite nice to have one field (a clickable link) rather than two - the title and an ugly url.
Please like this post to help it raise to the top!

Please consider adding conditional formatting based on formulas. This is a key feature in Excel and would greatly help in Airtable.

This would go a long way in letting many of us move completely away from Trello, Asana, Etc. into Airtable. I know there are workarounds (link to another table’s list containing the tasks), but that quickly becomes overly cumbersome. Would love to have simple checklist as a field option!

I am trying to convert from Asana to Airtable using Kanban cards. But the Kanban cards, even with the recent improvements hiding fields if they are empty, are still too chunky. Using a non Kanban view on Asana. I can see 15 tasks without having to scroll down, and their Kanban view will show around 5 tasks. But with Airtable, the cards are so huge, I can only see 2 or 3 cards before I have to scroll down.
If there was an option on each card to show a compact view or a standard view, it would greatly improve the usability of Kanban cards with airtable.
The compact view only needs to show the title, and if you want to see more of the card you can toggle the standard view.
This would greatly increase the usability and help me move everything off of Asana.

I’d love to see a new data type that takes the URL of an image file and renders the image rather than just displaying the URL as a link. I would think that this would save you some storage space as well by letting us link to hosted files rather than pulling them in as attachments.

One of my fields is a link to another table. I’d like end-users who are using the Form to add data to be able to create new records in the linked table but from the primary table data entry form.

I would love to have a feature that would search a given table by a field or set of fields to find and surface duplicate rows. It would then be great to be able to take a pre-defined action on duplicated rows such as delete, or merge. Dealing with dupes is always a pain with large data sets or importing new data into a set where some records may already exist. A way to deal with dupes in a somewhat automated way would be really helpful.
