I need to add a linked record to several hundred rows, without deleting the existing linked records. When I try to paste the new record into the rows, it deletes everything that’s already in that cell and replaces it with only the pasted record. Hi - We’re looking to pull a percentage of a task complete and reflected that % as a progress bar in a cell for a single record. We want the progress bar to be continuous (up to an integer) as the % of the task completed is updated… I.e. (just one of many use cases) if we have a record that is counting # of forms submitted for a given record, and the total number is noted in the record, the percentage of completed forms with respect to the completed record is reflected in an updating graphic progress bar. Currently if a formula field will return only a date or a number, Airtable will have formatting options for that formula field. However, if the formula will return a string or might return a string, or might return anything other than a date/number, there are no formatting options. Sometimes I write a formula so that it will usually output a date or number, but will return a string if an error condition is met. For example, a formula might calculate the number of days between two dates (a number) but output a string if the end date is before the begin date. This product suggestion has multiple parts to deal with these situations: Allow formulas to output errors which are distinct from the calculated value. For example, if a formula calculates a negative number, but negative numbers are not allowed from a business logic point of view, have the formula report an error that would be recognized as an error, not just another value. This would be similar to the #ERROR message, but could include a human readable string saying what the error is from a business logic point of view. Once formulas can report errors as errors, many formulas that sometimes return strings could then be considered to always return a number or a date or an error or blank, and thus could have formatting options. Increase the formatting options for formula fields to include formatting options for all the formula types. For example, a formula could be formatted as a centered check box (not just a left aligned emoji), as a rating with stars, as a select (with the colors of a select). ... View more

I would like to use a ARRAY_FIRST() and a ARRAY_LAST() function, taking an array as argument, and resulting in the first (or the last) element of this array. For now, I have to ARRAY_JOIN(my_array, ",") first, and the look after the string before the first “,”… which is a little tricky and need 2 formulas. Are there plans for making the calendar view available for mobile devices? Using calendars on mobile devices is so common these days and the fact that it’s not there is forcing me to do a very convoluted hack involving the Airtable api, node js and google calendar. I would like the ability to perform a “natural sort” that ignores leading articles (a, an, the). (I would like grouping to use the same logic.) The use case is that I have a database of books, and I would like “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn”, for example, to appear in the A’s rather than the T’s.
