Interested to know if there are any other UK members outside London that are left feeling a bit disconnected and unsupported.

Airtable as a company seem to assume that everyone in the UK is OK to have everything airtable related in London - but to be honest, as much as I love Airtable, I’m just not in a position to spend a couple of hundred quid and take a couple of days out trek down to the old smoke for the events that are put on.

I get that they have to deal with the majority first - but is Airtable really focused in London and nowhere else in the UK because I seem to be able to find clients using Airtable all over the country

Well, I can’t really relate as based in London sorry but I do see your point. However, the same things are probably said about Europe, where they hold events in say Paris and Amsterdam but not some of the smaller cities/all of the countries in Europe.

Probably helps that more of their largest customers are most likely based in London and their own relatively new office being near London Bridge, but they do hold a number of virtual events and webinars etc etc online so it is possible to hear/learn about the same things, just not through an in-person event.

The annual October London event is worth the commute I’d say, but not some of the smaller sessions that tend to be half-days/evenings.

Yes, I can relate to your situation - I’m an internal builder so not much constrained by sole-trader/freelancer costs to get to to London.  I’m based in Scotland and agree with @Cool_Kiwi that Airtable London is a good event and well worth attending. I also attended a governance session at Airtable’s London office in May which was also very good.  A bit like all events, it’s impossible to get to them all even if they were right on our doorstep.

Maybe what we need is some sort of UK map we can all pin to highlight where we’re based.

A map of community members (that give permission to appear on the map) would be a brilliant idea
- although it might clash a bit with the partner services directory

Hey @nick16, @David_Anderson1 and @Cool_Kiwi thanks so much for your thoughts in this thread. Completely understand your points here! The Community team is excited to support more meet ups for folks around the globe to drive connection, inspiration, and learnings.

We’re launching more Builder Crews as we speak, and would love to learn more about your city or if you’d be down to host a meet up close to you! Feel free to fill out our interest form here and we’ll follow up to chat more. 🎉

And to your point about a map -- we love this idea! We’re workshopping an easier way to navigate the Builder Crew directory to help make this easier. Stay tuned!

Thanks @MaddieJ  just submitted interest form for UK North/Scotland - not sure of demand or customer base this far north but you never know - I’m constantly evangelising Airtable up here! :)

Also submitted an interest form for UK North/Scotland.

As with @David_Anderson1 - not sure of demand yet, but happy to get involved and help.

Also @MaddieJ just to check the audience here
- are you aiming this at builders/developers or end users or a bit of everyone?
